Cat talk!

Good News! We have now got a new router so hoping I can now speed up a bit and catch up - well I could if we didn't keep going out. Hope to try again tomorrow...meanwhile...please read on

The other night I was preparing our meal when I heard a baby crying, except, as you know from my title it was a cat - a very loud cat, making the strangest noises (as only cats can) while bravely facing up to another cat who was making grumbling noises

They were right below my hallway window so I grabbed my phone and took a few photos.

By the time I had brought my phone back the cat that is standing was making a little less noise

It gradually moved off but at such a slow pace, step by step this sequence took 3 minutes to get this far (I missed some out - it was very slow with feet being picked up very slowly)
It then bowed it's head and walked off at a slightly quicker pace - as you can see the larger and possibly wiser cat just watched it go and sat where it had been for a little while longer.

Hubby and I tried not to laugh and disturb them but it really was so funny to watch and we would both love to speak cat to find out what the argument was about.

Here is my page about them - this cat may look rather strange - it is an altered wolf stamp by Lavinia and the look on the cat's face when we first saw it, along with the howling seems to fit! The other cat is also a Lavinia stamp, as are the poppies.

I added lots of Aall and Create washi tape, some of it torn and added some doodling.

This is my latest entry at Art Journal Journey and Elle's 'Language' theme

 Thanks for looking, Chris

Great page and a great story too Chris. Cats can make the most unusual noises, and be very loud too. They certainly have their own language. I like those cat images you used Chris, and the black and white too. Hugs-Erika

What a fun cat adventure you observed! I know they can be very loud. Love the journal page you made, and thanks for sharing the photos. I wonder what they were arguing about!? Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

I've seen that same action and heard those same sounds, but thankfully never by my two cats. I enjoyed the story that caused this journal entry. I'm never surprised when I see or hear about something that inspires a work of art. I really like the cat talk. It fits Elle's theme so well at Art Journal Journey, too. Thanks for sharing it, dear friend.

Those images work so well with the washi tape from A&C.
I don't like seeing something like this with two cats because I imagine they are going to end up in a ball of fur rolling around and around - fighting!
I imagine the cat sat down is guarding its territory and the walking cat has no right to be there but it is a 'hard' cat, fearless to the end, and is determined it is going to walk where it shouldn't. The other cat is very brave to defend its home like that.
It's a great page Chris, expressing what you saw so well and I am impressed with the change in the wolf.
Hugs, Neet xx

Love your Cat Talk page Chris, and your converted wolf-to-cat stamp, great idea! I see this behaviour a lot out in the back garden between my cat and one of the very territorial neighbour cats, and that very slowly walking behaviour you described too. It's quite bizarre to watch it happen lol.

Thanks for joining me for the Language theme at Art Journal Journey this month Elle xx

A fantastic cat story page Chris, I can imagine how it all looked, we don't get that many cats around just now, the local fox has scared them off .
Stay safe.
