Let's Party at Try It On Tuesday!

Hello everyone! The time is certainly flying at the moment...but  the last 10 years have flown too! 
You may have noticed in my side bar that we are celebrating our 10th Birthday here at Try It On Tuesday ....and it's time to celebrate with our new theme 'Let's Party'!
The Design Team have certainly been in the mood to celebrate - please do take a look here! 

I made a journal page using my Paper Artsy - Elena Zinski figures bopping away here! 

I used some new inks that I bought on our trip to Inspirations! They blend well and also react with water so I spritzed and sprinkled some water over the page.
I used some Crafty Individuals bunting and added stars through a stencil and stamped some music. I'm sure by now we are all having some warmer weather in the UK and can party outside! 
I found the sentiment on a freebie set of stamps and then wrote in "Good times c'mon' to get you all singing!

So...come on and join us - 'Show us your Art and the things you like to create'..... the challenge runs, as usual, for two weeks!

I would also like to join Erika and her 'In the Sky/In the Air' theme at Art Journal Journey since my little dancers here are jumping up in the air with joy!

Up in the sky..

Hi everyone! I have had a lovely day today, meeting wth friends, watching demos and spending some of my savings at the Happy Stampers show in Port Sunlight! I'll do a 'showed and tell' next week!
My leg held up well and I shall be seeing some folk again in a few weeks time! 

I have a journal page today using part of an old tag I made some time ago!

I can't remember many details about the original tag except that I stamped the circle for the sun and added the 'rays' with an inked ruler!
I made the background by adding Distress inks to the page then added yellow through a Paper Artsy flower stencil to make the sun rays, and another stencil, not sure which brand with text and a stem.
I stuck down the tag then thought it would look better with a little bit of stem on so lined everything up again to add more ink.
I doodled around the edge and added part of some song lyrics at the bottom.

I am joining in at Art Journal Journey and Erika's 'Up in the Sky/Up in the Air' theme!

In the sky...

...but first, a mystery!! 
Hi everyone! I seem to be having difficulty leaving comments on some blogs! I thought it was just because I was using my phone for commenting when we are travelling or when I am sitting 'watching' TV! But it seems wherever I am on my phone - WIFI or not, it makes no difference! I have found that if I remember to 'visit web site' I stand a better chance of publishing but sometimes I see the comment disappear before my eyes and have type it out again not even knowing whether it will publish and I confess to occasionally giving up and hoping I can get on the computer! If any one has any advice I will be very grateful!

Right, let's get up into the sky!
I had used this page in my 'black' journal to test some Distress Oxides when I first bought some...ages ago! 
When I picked the journal up and found it I had just the thing for it!

The moon is just some silver paint through a stencil and the owls head is a Carabelle Studio stamp that I bought for hubby to use in his little journal(not an art journal, but he does occasionally add pictures or stamping...if they are wildlife based!!)I heat embossed it to show up more! 

The words written in white pen are mine, a reminder of the night an owl swooped out of a churchyard in front of me and had me running all the way home!

T Stands for...the last of Paris ...for a while..

 Yes, there is a hint there...!!!
For now I will show you a few photos of how we spent our Sunday in Paris.
We started out with a walk up through the market to Place d'Italie.
I wanted to buy my Granddaughter some thing and usually go to Zara in the Shopping Centre there.

We also stopped at Paul's for coffee and for a sandwich for our 'picnic'
Of course it is here where I will join Bluebeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday!

It was delicious coffee and we resisted the cake display...but I did wipe out my cup and it is now holding pencils on my desk!

We went on the metro and as we changed lines saw these

 We ate our sandwich by the Petit Palais

We had vouchers from Eurostar for a museum visit and we chose the 'La Lune' exhibition at the Grand Palais.

Although I was initially disappointed that it wasn't in the main hall we thoroughly enjoyed it!
I did try to add photos here but blogger has started to play games again so I will try with taking you away from the Grand Palais.
We headed over the Alexander Bridge the most ornate in Paris.

 It leads to Les Invalides....the resting place of Napoleon.

Before crossing the bridge we went to look at the statue of another famous soldier - Winston Churchill.

 As you can see by this time I had unfolded my walking stick (BTW since our return home I have not been using it!)

Here you can see the Grand Palais on the left and Petit Palais on the right

We walked around the side of Les Invalides and into familiar territory - we used to stay at a hotel close by for quite a few years.
We stopped to look at the Eiffel Tower again....

...from the gardens this time.
On the way I spotted this beautiful flower display outside a florists shop

We headed to the metro that took us straight back to Place d'Italie where had our evening meal!

I do have a few random photos still to show that I will fit in where I can!

Happy Birthday

We have  been celebrating one or two birthdays during April and there are also three in May!
I made some cards in advance...
....this card however, is for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - 'Happy Birthday' theme and will be saved for a future birthday!

I used a Carabelle Studio scattered letters background stamp. I had masked off where the typewriter was going to sit and added some Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to the centre and around the edge of the card. I then stamped the whole of the Crafty Individuals Typewriter stamp and added a label(by Chou and Flowers that I bought in Paris)to say Happy Birthday!

Angels are near !

Hi everyone! It's been a funny few days...but I have finally found time to make a journal page for Art Journal Journey and Erika's 'In the Sky/In the Air theme'!

I never fail to get excited at seeing Dragonflies - the way the light catches their wings, especially on sunny day! You may remember the one that rested just outside our door last year.

I used up some ink remaining on a couple of sponges and stamped AALLandcreate Dragonflies(one of Tracy Evans'designs). I also used the heart from this set for a couple of angels coming in at the side until I had a better idea and drew in smocks with a silver pen! The wings also have a glisten to them but I just couldn't capture it!
The quote is from the same set - I cut it in half to fit.
I stamped in some Carabelle studio letters and then added some silver spatters over the page.

Here is our dragonfly visitor.

It was around the same time as seeing the Damselflies at Nostell Priory!

A Second look on the 2nd.....

Hello everyone, I am still rushing around trying to catch up...I may just have to accept that I never will!!!

I have edited it slightly as the title was missing
When all else fails....make a tag! I had to make a couple of cards today but got to my craft room and Mr Mojo refused to follow me! So, I thought, what now? Well, as it happens I had bought some lovely napkins at the weekend, nice summery ones but also with the intention of using some of them for 'something', you know, like you do! lol!
Grabbed a tag, separated the top layer, stuck it to the tag with gel medium, cut round it - then what? MM still not there! Decided to check on new challenges - Whey! Hey! Grabbed MM by the scruff of his neck and dragged him into my craft room!
This is what emerged..

The little photo came from an old calendar, the stamps I've had for a while but haven't a clue where they came from, some tissue paper from my scraps that had been stamped with a text stamp. I used my MS hydrangea punch in the top corner and put more tissue behind the holes and then used the punched flowers on the bottom.
The scalloped edge was pink and is now blue, with a little bit of lace added underneath. I painted a little bit of cosmic shimmer paint onto some of the flowers and the bonjour as well as streaking a bit on the ribbons, however the camera hasn't really picked it up.


Oh! and I did get one card finished and the other on the way as well as going for a riverside walk in the sun!

Having spent some time yesterday having a little re-organise in my craft room (and putting away my French goodies)I should be finding time to visit as well as having some crafty time today!!
