Hi everyone, we set off for a walk at Fletcher Moss the other day only to find our path blocked.
There was no way we could walk around itI think I have mentioned that Fletcher Moss is part of a scheme to prevent flooding in residential areas and that river has a flood plain here. The river itself has gone down now but this is obviously going to take a lot of dry sunny days to get back to normal.
We decided to retrace our steps and cross the road to The Parsonage.
For those who are under snow at the moment don't give up hope, Spring will come!
The first thing I spotted were the snowdrops by the path...
...and a lone Cyclamen
There were more snowdrops by the main building...
...and Helebores
Daffodils are coming up too
This Iris was the biggest surprise
I love Primulas and there are quite a lot around
From here we drove to Wilmslow to shop and have a coffee at our favourite coffee shop - Petit Delice where hubby gets his favourite Pistachio Croissant...
...and I have the one of the best croissants in England (and a tiny piece of hubby's)I don't normally have jam but they had Raspberry and I couldn't resist!!It's time to share at T stands for Tuesday at The Altered Book Lover where Bleubeard and Elizabeth will give you a great welcome if you share a drink with them.
You can also see my mini journal kit - page started but not finished...maybe tomorrow!
After all this talk of Spring - here are photos from my main bedroom window and the side window this morning
One of my balcony - I didn't open the double doors!
Wow, I'm so surprised to see so many spring flowers already blooming 😊. Lytham Hall hasn't really any signs of all their snowdrops yet, as you know they are normally out in full force in Feb so I'll keep you posted if your planning to visit ❤️. All our snow was more or less gone this morning due to rain. However I did see it snowing at about 5am this morning and everything was white. Stay warm and cosy! Wishing you a very Happy T Tuesday. Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Chris, and wow what a surprise to see spring flowers popping up-we are in an "arctic" blast of cold here so nothing growing here-thanks for sharing spring with us Hugs Kathy
ReplyDeleteThose croissants look fantastic. We have a new pastry shop where one can sit and enjoy a hot drink and a pastry — we really have to get ourselves back there. We hear that the roads are still very bad because of the snow, so maybe not today.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Those croissants look so good! And how nice to see flowers! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see green and flowers. It's snowing now so the view out my window looks very similar to the view out yours. Oh, and now I want a pistachio croissant. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteYou would almost need waders to get through that walkway path!
ReplyDeleteSpring flowers?! We've been having below zero(F) with wind chill advisories for frostbite within 5 minutes outside. No spring flowers here for a while--lol! :)
It sure doesn't look like spring in my community. But I know it will show up sooner then latter.
ReplyDeleteFrom spring walks to winter snow. I love seeing your walks and then the places you go to eat. Winter, I can do without. LOL Have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteThe croissant looks delicious! We're enjoying our rare snow here. Spring will come any day now lol Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteLike Kathy, it is dastardly cold here. It was -11F here last night and even lower "feels like" temps. I'm glad I have two fur babies to keep me warm.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the snow drops and what a surprise with the iris, which normally blooms here after the daffs and tulips have died back.
Those croissants look delectable. Thanks for sharing your amazing flowers, snow covered trees, and croissants and coffees with us for T this Tuesday, dear Chris.
Your bedroom views are like my house today. Snow, snow and more snow. We also had so much rain last week I had the same wet path blocks when I went to the beach the other day. But you have early season blooms. I am jealous. I hope you had a wonderful T day, and that your snow has melted too. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the spring flowers and to know that spring will indeed come! Aloha friend
ReplyDeletewow that is a lot of water! Nice to see the snowdrops out already. I have no flowers yet but the rhubarb is growing. Pistachio croissant sounds yummy. We don't have much snow but it is currently -5C today. Happy T Day! Elle xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a mix of weather...flooding, spring flowers and snow. Mother nature is off her meds again this year. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely Winter photographs..

Dear Chris, I'm happy about all the signs of spring you're showing. There is currently no snow in our region, but spring is apparently a little further away than in yours - I haven't seen any flowers bloom here yet...
ReplyDeleteAll the best, Traude 😊
