Hi everyone, my Mojo isn't being particularly helpful these days. It may have something to do with what's been going on with my medication, time will tell.
Fortunately I have had this postcard floating around in one of my image/scrap boxes for several years and it is such a restful scene I am putting it onto a page intended for Jo's 'Nature' theme at Art Journal Journey.
The two birds were fussy cut and came from an old bird identification book. The words are of course a Tim Holtz Smalltalk sticker.
Yesterday hubby persuaded me to have a walk at Styal on our way out to shop, I wasn't so keen but ended up being so pleased that we did. The sun obligingly shone for the time we were there.
Ferns are the most fascinating plant!
The River Bollin, which flows through the park was really raging.Never mind hubby, look at those colours behind him!More fern (no apology!)
This little waterfall is by the shop and cafe - we could hear the roar from the weir and decided to take the path down for a proper look(by now I had forgotten that were supposed to be shopping!)Getting closer...
Would you like to hear it? This is a video I took.
The final part with the grid is the fish bypass.
Just above the weir the water was calm enough to capture the reflection of the trees.
The sun was almost covered by cloud now but this was a bright spot - tumbling poppies
The sign says that the poppies were knitted or crocheted by staff and volunteers at Styal
Most enjoyable. Thank you very much. Aloha
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a good walk, beautiful blue sky, and those tumbling poppies are great. Hope your meds settle soon and you feel better.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely postcard Chris and I can see why you wanted to use it. It's a really pretty page. I hope the medication gets squared away. And I'm glad you enjoyed your walk. Sometimes fresh air really makes you feel better, doesn't it. And the scenery is pretty too. Have a great start to the new week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI love ferns, too! And hydrangeas!
ReplyDeleteLovely walk. Glad you went and glad you shared. :)
Fantastic sceneries, both the various set of photos from the mature and your art work.
ReplyDeleteHappy week ahead xx
Good morning Chris, I Love your journal page very much. Really enjoyed all the photos-thanks for taking us along on your walk-everything is so beautiful and I loved the handmade poppy tree
ReplyDeleteHappy new week hugs from the lake

What a beautiful page! I love the background you created to showcase that gorgeous postcard, it looks perfect with the birds too ☺️. Loving autumn this year and the riot of colours, and your photos are stunning. I hope you're having a lovely week and thanks for the AJJ inspiration ❤️. Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colours which is why a walk at this time of year is particularly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNot only the beautiful thing in your blog today, the page for Jo's challenge is lovely and I really felt at peace when I saw the postcard you had used. Looks good with the stencilled background and the two birds sitting there.
Hope you start to be your usual self soon.
Hugs, Neet xx
Lovely page Chris, love the birds. Beautiful place for a walk too, that river is loud! You must be in a sheltered spot there for that hydrangea to still be doing so well, mine have been hit by frost :( The poppies remind me of when I was at the tower of London a few years ago and there were masses of poppies tumbling over the walls - oh I just googled and it was 2014, a few more years ago than I thought lol.
