Nature

Hi everyone, it's November already and first of all I am giving Neet a big Thank You for hosting at AJJ throughout October! I wish I had been able to join in more.

Now, to welcome Jo from 'Let's Art Journal' who is hosting at Art Journal Journey this month with her 'Nature' theme.

I love Autumn almost as much as Spring so I am starting with an Autumn page.

The background is a Lavinia stencil mop up and is faded enough to take the napkin leaves and the stamped images, which I coloured with Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils.

The mushroom image is from Crafty Individuals by Maria Kitano - I added the small mushrooms to the other side too.
I love to see fungi when we are out on our walks but I end up sneezing a lot in Autumn which I am told is because of the fungi spores in the air.

I hope you will join us this month at AJJ, when you read Jo's post you will see there is lots to think about to include in your pages.

There are of course some dreaded rules at AJJ - pease read them here if you have any doubts.

Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. Wow Chris. What a fabulous first entry. A genuine beauty with the fungi and the leaves. That background has the perfect colors, too. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us at Art Journal Journey using Jo's Nature theme.

  3. Hi Chris - this is fabulous - just my kind of page (in that I love it, not that I can do anything similar, I can't!).
I love the way you build up your journal pages, as what size you are working in and this one is so autumnal.
Such a beautiful mushroom image, CI do some great stamps don't they, but the way you have coloured it is what brings it to life. Fab background, everything about this page is gorgeous.
    Hugs, Neet xx
