Hi everyone, we've had rain here again today. I think the North West of the UK is the only area receiving large amounts of rain and we have green grass once again.
It seems ages since I went to Paris with my GD but in actually fact we only got back less than three weeks ago (there's been a lot going on!)
My last pics a week ago showed us leaving Samaritaine but I didn't show you our main reason for visiting....
We went to the Voyageur restaurant for a drink and dessert (our second of the day!) We were shown to the same window table that hubby and I had last September.(Hubby actually told me that I must take Emily here!)When I saw Strawberry Melba on the menu my choice was easy - not so much sugar as some on the menu and refreshing and delicious. I had another tonic water and Emily had sugar free Coke.We both agreed - best dessert ever!
I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth of The Altered Book Lover for T Stands For Tuesday. Every Tuesday, for just over nine years Elizabeth has hosted this get together of folk willing to share their drink related posts.
We were going to visit one of the 'Emily In Paris' locations so had a quick natural break and caught the Metro. We were walking on the opposite side of the road when we heard music - Emily asked could we cross the road but to be honest I was on my way. I have seen these Tango dancers on the terrace outside the Comédie Française on Instagram and I was so pleased that they were there.
We walked around the corner to the gardens of the Palais Royale where in the series Emily meets her friend. We were so intrigued as to which bench they sat on that I forgot to take a photo of Emily sitting on Emily's bench!
...we arrived just in time to see the lights on the Eiffel tower twinkle. This street and other all around were packed, we could hear the music from the nearby Champs du Mars (I decided to avoid the bigger crowds that would be there)and then someone nearby set up some more music. The atmosphere was amazing.
...then the fireworks started!
Lots of wonderful photos today, you had a good time as always in Paris. And love the Paris 'souvenrs' you made back when! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, I have really enjoyed your Paris trip with your grand daughter. You captured some awesome fireworks photos too-my camera is really old and doesn't take night photos at all. thinking you both had a very memorable time in Paris-Happy T and second on the 2nd hugs Kathy
ReplyDeleteWow, what an end to your trip to Paris with Emily - you really did have fun! no wonder you were shattered when you got home. Hope the rain stops and you get to some gardens soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris. This is Erika, but I am commenting for Elizabeth because she can't get her computer to leave comments. She wants you to know that she appreciates you linking up to T day, and she feels bad she can't comment since she hosts the blog. She is supposed to get her computer looked at tomorrow, and hopefully she will then be back in the world of commenting. Thanks for linking up and sharing more Paris photos for T day and also sharing your miniature France piece for Second on the Second.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - fab pictures. You are so lucky to experience all this. How fun to share your knowledge of love of the city too. Wonderful post, Chris. Happy T-day and hugz
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fabulous time you must have had! How lovely to have dancing on the street and my goodness, those fireworks looked spectacular 😊. Such beautiful photos and oh that Strawberry Melba looks good too. So glad you had a fantastic time! Happy T Day! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteDelightful magic! You make it come alive for me :)
ReplyDeleteThe tango dancers are wonderful! So lovely that you were able to see them.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a wonderful post. I love seeing all of the photos but the videos of the dancing was fabulous. Have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteHow Fab Chris! I loved all of it. I didn't make the connection with Emily in Paris, and your GD also being Emily, that's a great idea to visit the locations. I loved the tango dancers, that lady in the red trousers looks like she knows her stuff, and they all look so elegant and graceful. Loved the fireworks and the desserts! What a fabulous trip you both had. Thanks for showing mini Paris too, never seen that before. Happy belated T Day and second on the secondElle/EOTC xx
