Hi everyone! When we woke up on Sunday the sun was shining and there had been a light frost! It was still quite cold when we left the hotel dressed in several layers of clothing!
We just happened to be in Paris on free Museum weekend but decided that we didn't want to queue in the cold. (by this time hubby had the beginnings of a cold, which on reflection, when we got home and I tested Covid positive, was probably Covid!)
We set off in Sunday Parisien style, walking towards our destination.
We didn't pass this way again so I don't know whether it opens during the week
As we reached the bottom of Rue Mouffetard we heard music...
...there was dancing......afterwards the man escorted the lady back to her family!
We walked up Rue Mouffetard and stood for a while listening to this excellent trio!
It is here I will join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday
The road outside was quite busy as all of the food shops were open. Rue Mouffetard is famous for it's food shops.
I got a reflection in this window taking a pic of the upside down teddy!
..and decided to go into this church - it is one we have passed so many times but never visited - we weren't disappointed! The old cloisters are beautiful but we couldn't further as there was a meeting going on!
The light coming through the windows was amazing!
We are only half way through the day..and it gets better..but I'll show you that next week!
Thanks for looking, Chris
Chris i'am sitting here green with envy.. it has been so long since we traveled anywhere... The restrictions are gone but now we are restricted by the gas prices.. sigh... LOVED seeing ALL those photos!! Happy T day! hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteOh my, really? How can it get better after this??? You make me miss Paris and France so... but I thank you very much for my armchair travels through your eyes. That church is glorious!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh I do get that hubby look when I want to get a pic before the fork, knife or spoon gets in too:):):)
Happy T day!
I love you make such interesting discoveries in a city. It makes walking around an adventure, doesn't it? I have never visited the Pantheon, and it is really beautiful. I love the light reflections. I once again enjoyed these photos. I hope you had a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo neat for you to see dancing in the streets. Beautyful church. Lovely post, Chris. Happy T Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely incredible day you had, even if you didn't visit any museums. Amazing street merchants, dancing, and other eye candy.
ReplyDeleteThat church is simply gorgeous. I am always struck by how very different the churches in Europe are than here in the states, I truly enjoyed all the photos you shared.
I've seen that same look T gave you when I ask Sally to wait while I take photos. Thanks for sharing your Sunday walk and coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Chris.
I forgot to mention how I love the murals you found.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful day! I love street musicians, and dancing in he street makes me happy! The church is wonderful, I love church architecture. Thanks for sharing. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWOW! That church was AMAZING, Chris! My daughter was looking over my shoulder at the pictures and she said it was beautiful. The architecture and all those stained-glass windows are quite the work of art.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing more of the pictures.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Sundays in Paris can definitely be full of surprises! Too bad you didn't have the opportunity to go to museums, but they really do have long lines now. On one of our long-ago trips to Paris the Louvre was free EVERY Sunday, and it had several doors that would be open and some had no line. (That was before they built the pyramid). But everything changes.
