Hi everyone, we have a new theme at Try It On Tuesday and it's 'For The Man In Your Life'. Of course Father's Day is coming up but for me there are a few male birthdays too. This doesn't mean you have to make a card - all kinds of projects are welcome, along as they fit the '..Man...' theme. The Design Team have some really fabulous examples to show you, please do take a look here.
I hadn't really thought about the colours I wanted but found a piece of stray paper of lots of brown with a printed script on. I re - stamped the chess pieces and stuck them on and in the process thought of the washi tape (both Stamp and washi are designed by Bipasha for Aall and Create) I realised that there was an overload of the darker brown so used some old book paper margins to stamp some of the chess pieces.I do love paper piecing.I cut some of the washi buttons (to hide part of a thumb print...ssshhh) and decided to balance with just one at the bottom right. The sentiment is a Crafty Individuals stamp from a Sharon Bates set.
This card is on it's way to my youngest son's partner - hope he likes it.
The TIOT challenge runs for the next two weeks and we look forward to seeing what you make 'For The Man In Your Life'
Thanks for looking, Chris
Gorgeous card, and the colours are fabulous, too. Masculine cards are always more difficult than 'female' ones! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteFabulous masculine card, Chris! Love the chess set and washi and you’ve blended them so well together. I love not every image on the stamp was colored. An impressive response to the challenge.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a stunning card! I love the washi tape that you used and the stamped chess pieces look amazing as part of your design - perfect 😁. Happy and creative wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI really like this card Chris. I like the idea of chess, and the way this image is laid out it could be more than just a game on a game board. It has a slightly medieval feel. Beautiful card for TIOT-happy new week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I don't think I've ever seen chess themed stamps before. Really striking! :)
ReplyDeleteA great card Chris, I love the image, looks brilliant paper pieced and the washi tape is a great match.
