Dream...

At the very start of hosting the 'Dreams or Wishes' theme at Art Journal Journey Eileen had made a simple looking but very elegant page!
I thought I would have a try at creating my own!
I have put an Autumn twist on it but I'm also looking forward to seeing berries as Winter draws nearer.

I coloured my book paper with distress inks and stamped some berries from a Crafty Individuals bird stamp onto a piece of tissue. I used a scrap of gelli print to stamp 'DREAM' ( a shortened word from a dreamer quote by Visible Image) and some smaller scraps with some random stamping on. A final spatter with black and red and some cheesecloth threads to finish!

I thought you may like to see my Autumn display on my windowsill - not a hint of Halloween!!
Some of the leaves came from Kew, they floated onto the two seats I sat on - so I guessed they were mine!!! Some of the foliage is plastic and comes out every year! The gourds were from the supermarket.

These are to the side and are Hydrangea flowers from the caravan garden!

Coming up next will be Kew gardens part 1!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  5. I love your page, Chris. You're the third one to try Linda K.'s one word design and link it to AJJ. Well fourth if I count myself. I guess I'm not the only one who loves Linda's series. Thank you for sharing your version with us at Art Journal Journey. Eileen xx

  8. This turned out GREAT, Chris. I love it. It is truly one like Linda's and Eileen's. I especially like the splatters and the word. It's a great way to honor Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey.

Your flowers are wonderful. I like the entire vignette you have created. Your gourds look so much prettier than mine. This is one lovely display. I'm like Helen. I can't wait to see Kew photos.

  11. What a beautiful display you are showing to us Chris. I love the gourds but haven't bought any this year - I usually have them displayed on the steps in little groups as you walk up to the door.
Then we come to your page (well actually it came first) - I love it and think you have made a superb job of it. I especially like the addition of the berries - a great idea.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  14. A beautiful page - I've only recently realised that I'm very drawn to berries, largely thanks to Helen's Kew pictures - so I love this. The stamp is gorgeous, but it's the composition that really makes this page shine.
