I have been taking part in an Instagram challenge run by Southerngals Design she has some amazing tutorials on her website. It requires five minutes each day for seven days. Having been just a little bit busy of late it was just what I needed!
I decided to use the bits and pieces on my desk each day.
Today I made this...
...from the bits on here..
I have used a new (bargain price from The Works), almost 6" x 6", kraft journal.
I used some mop up paper towel, music paper, a small piece of paper leftover from yesterdays TSFT page, a little bit of ribbon and then rummaged in my bits bag for a postage stamp - I wish I had noticed the wording as I would have saved this for a baby card...Oh well....!! The five minutes whizzes each day and means I just have to get on with it!!
This page is to link to Elizabeth's new theme at Art Journal Journey - Count Your Blessings. This time my blessing is for five minutes of not overthinking my crafting.
I would also like to link to 'Sheet Music'-Moo Mania and More's theme - the music paper was on my desk while I was thinking what to do!!!
Thanks for looking, Chris
Ooh, - just lovely - I love how the colours pop against the kraft, and the textures are amazing. Great minimal collage.

This looks a fabulous 5 minute page Chris. The kraft journal looks a good size to use for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteYvonne xx.
I have one of those journals from the Works too. A 5 minutes well spent today!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of 5 minute crafting, I did think about taking part in this but as always something else comes along and the day is over. Shame on me but so glad your keeping up with it Chris, grand job.

Seems you are not alone in this 5 minute challenge, Chris. I'm so glad you shared this as your first entry this month for my theme at Art Journal Journey. As I told Alison the first day she did this, it would take me two hours to think of a subject, another hour to find all the products and pieces I needed to use, and twenty minutes for glue or paint to dry. You made it look EFFORTLESS, and I am thrilled with this entry dear friend. It is gorgeous and so well done, too. Great colors and a wonderful composition. Thanks for joining me at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteNice 5 minute page. It not only looks good but it was a good way to do a little cleaning up of your work station. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteFun page, but I must admit to more enjoying leisurely crafting. Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteFirstly I want to say once again thank you dear Chris for your amazing July hosting at AJJ! You were simply wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this five minute pages even though I guess I am not able to do such a lovely designed layered mini collage in just 5 minutes. But I can imagine when I would have the bits and pieces laying on my table I maybe could do it. But I have always to clean up all my stuff as I work in the livingroom studio...lol! Your first one is just gorgeous and I love that you linked it to Moo Mania & More as well and that you instantly make a page for the new theme at AJJ as well. This craftpaper journal seems to be a great little jounral for this five minutes projects! I am looking forwward to the next pages and I can imagine that it is great to get rid of some scraps ...good idea dear Chris!
Happy day!
Thank you for joining Moo Mania & More as well as Art Journal Journey with this little artsy collage! Much appreciated as you know!
Hugs, Susi
Wonderful page! Wow and all created just in 5 minutes, not sure I could do this ...lol ๐. The pretty shades of colour work beautifully against the Kraft card too. Enjoy your week! J ๐ x
ReplyDelete5 minutes is a mind-bending challenge. I'd still be staring at the materials at the end of that time lol. I love the colors :)
ReplyDeleteI realize it's late, but I wanted you to know I just received your package. I haven't opened it yet, but I will share it with others for T on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful page, Chris
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at MOO MANIA & MORE

Just lovely, Chris. I can't believe the coordinated treasures you found on your work table. Even if I had such scraps, I could never pull it together in such a short time. It's a really striking page.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Hugs, Eileen
