Hi everyone! There are definitely signs of Spring around the corner, although it is still a month away and the forecast for this week is not good so I am not getting too excited! Today has been another quite chilly day!
To warm us up I have a journal page for Rike's theme 'Animals from A to Z' at Art Journal Journey.
I saw this advertisement for holidays in a newspaper supplement so decided on a torn book paper background which I gave a wash of paint to and them stamped randomly wth Paper Artsy and Kaisercraft stamps.
I tore off the bottom and the top of the image and reversed where they belonged for a bit more contrast!
The quote using a Dylusions stamp is one I believe in wholeheartedly and was at the core of my teaching style in the Special Needs School I taught at for, well, shall I say, quite a number of years!
I added the 'Follow' from part of a Paper Artsy Lin Brown quote.
Whenever I see elephants in wildlife programmes they are always involved with the whole family and from some of the clips I have seen they learn from their experiences, but are helped by other elephants if they get into difficulties!
I am really enjoying Rike's theme and have more pages on the go - I've just realised that there are only a few days left too!
Thanks for looking, Chrisx
Beautiful journal page, love the background. It's freezing here, good weather to stay home. Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletegreat quote, love your page! you're not wrong about it being cold today; despite the sunshine at Kew!
ReplyDeleteFabulous page! Very cold here too but beautiful and sunny. Stay warm and cosy, your elephants certainly do!
ReplyDeleteI love the image you used Chris and the quote is a brilliant one! It looks like we are heading for the deep freeze this week, I so wish Spring would come soon!! Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteA fabulous journal page Chris. You picked out a super quote to use as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are in for some snow again, spring isn't here yet.

As a teacher with a few more years to go, I am with you about this quote! What I don't understand (at least here in the US lately) is why other people don't believe this. :) Loving your elephant page. It is great-what a nice photo. That was a good find, and love that background your greated to put it on. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWOw an amazing page - great how you personalized the image to your liking - and the quote is just beautiful and fits this page perfectly! Great that you like Rike's theme Chris! Your support is much appreciated! Still a few days to add entries at AJJ! I wish you a happy Sunday! Here we have nearly 20 degrees minus out - that's really chilly!
ReplyDeleteBut otherwise - that's normal for February.

OH, Chris. I adore your elephants. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great quote. I have a similar one, but the last is involve me and I will teach it. Or something similar. This is a wonderful page, fitting well with Rike's theme. Thanks for sharing it at Art Journal Journey, too.
Love your sentiment and I definitely agree with it. Xx
