Making a start - with a funky prompt

I have at last started to get my head around Christmas card making! Thanks to seeing a few mentions of the Funky Junkie 12 tags of Christmas I have decided to give it a go…again! I have tried before but have always attempted tags, this time I am using Linda of The Funky Junkie Boutique's examples as a spring board towards my card making, and I hope that I won't give up this time!
I have seen these tags appearing since September but as we were away then and with making journal pages for AJJ when we came back I am REALLY late!
Tag one was such an inspiration with the woodland and the deer I have just jumped right in and 'FJ12TOC' card number two is already started!
I roughly spread gesso over my kraft card (Oh! I do love Kraft card)Stamped my favourite TH tree twice over then stamped a freebie tree using grey several times over (even built up a larger tree with it)I added the Sizzix deer and stamped a freebie stag and used a black pen to turn him into a silhouette!
I tried several greetings before choosing this freebie stamp which seemed quite appropriate!

I would like to enter at

There will be another post soon with some more cards using yet more freebie stamps!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. Great card Chris. It feels like a cold and peaceful winter's night. But even though it's feels cold, it's still beautiful Hugs-Erika

  2. This is lovely. I confess that when I make a card, I make the same one over and over. I have no desire to reinvent the wheel each time. I admire how yours are so different and look forward to card two. But right now, I'm admiring this one! BTW, I haven't even started mine!
