This is where we went two weeks ago - the day before going to our caravan.I have the benefit of a free pass to Tatton Park(don't know why we don't go more often)which used to be given to workers of the Council Authority I worked for as a retirement gift and it is a pass for two people plus free parking which is quite a bonus!
We started by having a coffee and a shared teacake before our walk.
It was a lovely sunny day with enough clouds blowing over to make it comfortable!
I am joining Elizabeth and Bluebeard for T stands For Tuesday.
We had promised ourselves a visit here for a while and think we may go back for lunch one day!
Now, If you don't mind I am going to rush you around the gardens - I have been experiencing a touch of what the Doc described as Benign Positional Vertigo and I don't want to spend too long on the computer so this will be almost without words!
It's not the quietest of places as it is quite close to the runway at Manchester Airport!
Sorry if you feel rushed - hopefully with the exercises that the Doc showed me and some medication I shall soon be feeling fine!

ReplyDeleteWow. That is an amazing place. The flowers are just gorgeous and I bet they change with the weeks but always look amazing. :) We don't have teacakes here in the US. Anything with the word cake would be sweet. Which is good, but these look really buttery and yummy. Happy T day.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen teacakes here, either, so they may be a British treat. I wish my grandmother was still alive. I'd ask her about them. They look lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe grounds at Tatton Park are amazing. That was a great retirement gift. I was super impressed. Each of the photos was inspirational, colorful, and beautiful. I felt like I was there among the greenery, the flowers, and the waterlilies. Several of the photos reminded me of the ones Helen takes at Kew. It may have been noisy, but it was stunning to see. I especially liked the bridge. I sincerely hope you go back to share more of this beautiful place with us.

ReplyDeleteWe once said we should write a book about all the toasted tea cakes we had eaten in different places but I am with you it has only been in the UK. They do differ so much from one place to another so we should get our heads together I reckon.

Oh your vertigo sounds terrible, I do hope you are feeling better soon! Thanks for showing the gardens, they look so beautiful and I enjoyed visiting them with you 😁. Mmm, your toasted teacake looks so yummy and what a lovely setting to sit and enjoy it with a cuppa 😀. Teacakes seem to be a British thing and I have found in certain parts of Lancashire these ones are called a "currant teacake" as they use the term teacake for plain rolls too, which I hadn't heard of before. ReplyDeleteI don't know what teacakes are even after seeing the photo. The first picture you shared of the pond with all the yellow and orange flowers is simply magical! Wouldn't that make a beautiful painting?

ReplyDeleteToasted tea cakes! Yum! I think it is typical English. We used to stop at Little Chefs where I would have toasted tea cakes with butter. I'm not sure if Little Chef still exist....
Tatton Park looks lovely. Thanks for sharing. I love the photo of the gunnera taken from the ground (or so it seems) and it looks like you are standing in a primeval forest!

ReplyDeleteI second the Epley positioning for vertigo suggested earlier. It doesn't help with all kinds of vertigo but works for some. I hope yours passes soon.
We should import teacakes. It looks like it would go well with the coffee I'm drinking now ;)

Wow! The colors were amazing! Almost like Fall. I loved the Japanese garden. It looks like a very peaceful place. If it's noisy the cute duckies didn't seem to mind. the teacakes look a little like scones. Scones and teacakes different things?
