I have a very bad habit, so my boys used to think, of dancing along with a supermarket trolley…even worse if I break into song too!
I am not musical at all in that I never learnt to play an instrument but I do love music. I am not the sort of person who crafts in silence either! When there is music playing I can't keep my feet still and used to love dancing years ago (not these days as hubby does not enjoy dancing - I still try to get him to dance but we just end up with the giggles!)
My page for today is about that habit!
The background was made in one of my favourite ways, ink added to an acrylic block, spritzed and pressed down onto my page. I then drew a frame.
The monster is one of Elenazinskiart's from Paper Artsy (she has new ones out soon and I confess to being just a little excited!)
I used some of the doodle stamps from her set and added some of my own along with a Kaisercraft one.
I would like to add this to Erika's choice of Tell A Story at Art Journal Journey
I would also like to enter the challenges at
Simon Says Monday Challenge where the theme is 'Be Square'
Craft Stamper's 'Anything Goes' theme
Country View Crafts 'Anything Goes' theme
Thanks for looking, Chris
oh this is gorgeous!! I can't wait for the new monsters either!
ReplyDeleteWonderful journal page, you had fun with your dancing monster. Hugs Valerie
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh! I just LOVE this page and the story behind it. My boys weren't too crazy about me doing the same things, when they were with me.......Now, as adult men, they just shake their heads!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stamp!!
Oh what a funny page, made me smile. I love it much.
ReplyDeleteI also like to dance, but my husband don't. I also cannot keep my feet still when I hear good dance music. Your page looks so great and well designed, wow!
Dear Greetings

What an adorable monster and your story really made me smile... it sounds all too familiar - lol! Love the background too! Hugs, Anne xx

Oh Chris, I can SO relate! Yep, I used to work nights and would grocery shop after I got off work. I was often the only person in the store after midnight, except for the two or three stockers. I would dance down the aisles, singing (or humming) and dancing as I went. The stockers often got a kick out of me, and would change the music to rock, which I have a fondness for.
ReplyDeleteSo this toe tapper had me in stitches. I confess, I'm not big on those monsters, but you always find the appropriate way to use them. Love the story behind the page, too.
BTW, where I shop now, they don't have music piped in. Just the din of people talking and comparing stories.
ReplyDeleteThat little monster really looks like he's having a ball tapping his feet to the beat. What a fun page. And playing music while making art always gets my creative juices moving. :) Thanks for joining in at AJJ. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThis dancing monster is great - what a funny page! ADORABLE Chris!

Such a wonderful and happy page. I am the same as you I dance and sung all the time and have tried really hard to get Vic to dance but all he seems to do is Dad dancing or some sort of punk.
ReplyDeleteI will be laughing all day about this page
Love Chrissie xx
So happy to hear you let your foot-tapping continue despite spousal resistance! I love the idea of you dancing with a supermarket trolley... and I love this page too, full of life and colour, and I can hear the music too!
