I had a dream….I think!

I have no idea why but I had a disturbed night last night! I woke up at around 1.30a.m. The only thing that was different to my usual routine was going to bed half an hour earlier than usual! I was wide awake and after an hour I still hadn't got back to sleep! Nothing for it but to get up and go to my craft room - this worked once before - I allowed myself 25 minutes - and then went through my bedtime routine again! It worked, although I didn't wake up very early and we seem to have been behind all day. Forgot to mention that hubby started with a cold yesterday so we could both benefit from a lie in anyway.

After breakfast I went to my craft room. During the night I had found an old journal that I started years ago in memory of my Dad. His work and his hobby was gardening. He was a foreman at a large nursery and his own garden was his pride and joy!

I used my new Paper Artsy stamps to create this page. I already had the flowers cut out as I used part of them on yesterdays page,
The page had some mop up gold on it. I stamped some random text over the page and one of the small stamps around the edges, which was coloured in with a combination of watered down Bougainvillea Fresco paint with Are You Cerise Infusions and gold pen. The tape at the bottom is an image transfer from flowery page in a magazine. The words are all from a Paper Artsy Sarah Naumann set (ESNO4)The 'an' was the start of 'anything' picked out with a distress marker.

As I was making this page I did wonder if a dream had woken me up, although if it was that I have no recollection of it!

I would like to enter this in Erika's 'Tell Me A Story' theme at Art Journal Journey.

  2. This is a beautiful journal page. It honors your father and tells a nice story, too. I really like those flowers. They are so different, and I know you must like them, since you have such a love of gardens and flowers, anyway.

Hope you get more sleep tonight. I never seem to remember my dreams. I'm glad you at least remember some of yours, even if you didn't last night. Hope your lazy day goes well.

  6. I like the light gold you used. Just enough to make the page special. I think the light word image is also great. These makes those purple flowers just POP off the page. I think this page is a great page inspired by your dad. Maybe he was the one sending you into the studio. Hope you have a better night sleep tonight. Hugs-Erika

  7. A terrific page to have creative in your sleep break. I wake up most nights for at least half an hour and I just lie there gazing into space. Must think of you with this piece and maybe do the same sometimes.

Great to remember your dad in the garden as well. Sleep well tonight.

    Love Chrissie xx
