It's been a busy time lately so we are having some time at home…..now c'mon…..I can hear that gasp!!!
I'm here to show my desk and join a whole load of folk doing the same thing on What's on your Wordesk Wednesday over at Julia's Stamping Ground
My desk hasn't changed much - a different journal page - just needs a bit of ink around the edges but didn't get touched yesterday at all.
I have moved my bottles and jars to a container so that I can reach my Christmas stamps and the little scrap box (although it doesn't look it) has less in it thanks to a new challenge at AJJ. The page on the right will be making an appearance there soon!
It is a collage challenge but with a twist so I really have had to dig deep into my papers and scraps!
One of my little pencil cases(there are several around) is on the left of my desk, there is a pile of papers for another page and peeping out on the right is another journal page that I have started.
Film Review
Yesterday as well as going over to look after our Granddaughter we went to a Silver Screen showing of Ben Hur with Morgan Freeman in it.
The time passed so quickly as the film moved at a good pace and we both really enjoyed it. The acting was good and it had a proper story!
I may have mentioned before about the Odeon Silver Screen showings of slightly older films that are for 'more mature' cinema goers and comes with a cup of of coffee and a biscuit all for £3 each. I don't think there is a limit on ages but the audience yesterday had a lot of grey hair in it!!
I am off to meet friends for lunch so won't get around to visiting until I get back.
Thanks for looking, Chris
Hi Chris, busy bee you are! Finding a good film isn't easy, is it? Sounds like you have a great time with all your cinema visits. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #8 xx

Well, Chris, goodness knows what's going on with my computer today but there I was typing a comment for you and it shut me down - second time today - how very rude of it! Your journal pages are lovely. It takes me all my time to write up my diary so I would be no good at making journal pages. I didn't know Morgan Freeman was in Ben Hur. Surely he was too young to be in the original so perhaps it's a remake. You've reminded me that we went to our local cinema's equivalent of your Silver Screen regularly on a Tuesday morning - can't think why we don't anymore. Have a good week and happy WOYWW. ReplyDeleteHi Chris, pleased you enjoyed the film. I love going to the cinema though we don't get chance to do it very often. Journal page looks interesting. Happy crafty woyww, Angela x 19
ReplyDeleteI saw the original Ben Hur and I can't remember if I enjoyed it or not. Glad you found that the new one was worth watching.

I go to the old biddy cinema with my friend Chris. Heres a trick to make it even cheaper. Go on to compare the meerkat website, buy a one day travel insurance for anywhere in the uk (i paid £2.80) and you will get two for cinema tickets every week for a year. So you would only pay £1.50 each. Even better when we go at normal cinema times.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
Lynn xx
I like your Art journal page very much!
ReplyDeleteAlways lovely with structure and layers.
Snow greetings!
HAPPY WOYWW, Sussie nr 41
Hi Chris, this post really made me smile. Coffee, biscuit and film for £3, that sounds fabulous. I'm just dipping my toes into the pool of mixed media and I've found your recent posts very inspiring. I've just started my first art journal but I think I definitely need more practise before I share it. Thank You for the inspiration. Happy crafting, Sandra x
ReplyDeleteWow, you are a little busy bee!! It's always good to find some time to create!

I can't wait to be retired and as busy as you both are!! Love the page on your desk today, Helen #2
ReplyDeleteNow that my hubby is retired, we intend visiting the cinema more often, especially if we can get in on budget days! I'm glad you enjoyed the film, I hadn't realised that Ben Hur had been remade! I hope you've been enjoying the home time, you have a busy life normally!!

You have a lovely creative desk today - I see lots of inviting things! Your journal pages are great - I see some raised leaves and other interesting bits! Glad you had a good time with your Granddaughter - she will remember her good times with you! Thanks for sharing! Lindart #47
ReplyDeleteHi Chris!
ReplyDeleteI love this little peek as to what's on your desk and can't wait to get a closer look at that fabulous page you've given a sneak peek of! I hope you had a lovely afternoon with your friends. Sorry I've been away. I broke my arm and am just now able to type again.
Sending hugs,
Nancy
Wow Chris, the cinema certainly is value for money and I bet it is fun to get a drink and a biscuit too. Now I am wondering whereabouts it is and do all odeon's do this?
ReplyDeleteThe journal pages are promising, I like the colour and there seems to be a little b it of paste having been used through a stencil on the left hand side. Look forward to seeing them finished.
I must admit I will sit and play around with my journal before making cards but I have a friend with a very special birthday coming up so must get a card done for her, need inspiration and mojo!
Have a good week
Hugs, Neet xx no 4
Wow, that's a great price on the movie. Sally paid $16.00 (USD) each for our Sully IMAX tickets. I bet you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed Sully, but at less than 1/4 the cost, plus a drink and biscuit.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of your pages! I love going to movies, but it's SO expensive! Glad you found such a bargain. Have a great week! ~Heather~ WOYWW #51
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good time at the cinema and love seeing your journal pages too.
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting my desk already
Kyla
I can't see the details, but the color shades and textures on your page look amazing. That movie theatre sounds like something I would enjoy at my age. Blessings!
