I would also like to Thank everyone for your visits and lovely comments - it does mean a lot to me!
My Paper Artsy - Boy with a fish is by the sea though, somewhere he knows and loves.
I coloured him in with Tim Holtz Distress Markers - I then decided he looked better by cutting part of the background away.
Now what to do with him..
I bought this ugly framed picture at a charity shop a while ago - just because it had a hessian background already stretched for me!
Now to make some changes..
First a coat of Dina Wakley Media Gesso
..…and then some Paper Artsy Fresco Paints - Sky and a touch of Snowflake in it to lighten it a little.
Next - a good coat of Paper Artsy Crackle Glaze… Over this(once it had dried) a layer of Snowflake - which I thought I had photographed!
But just look at the crackle effect...
..the cracks appeared so quickly! Once thoroughly dry I used my Tim Holtz Sanding Grip tool to take some of the paint off to give a shabby look! I then painted the hessian - using Snowflake and Sky randomly across the hessian…ready for my next stage..
I saw this photo in a bird magazine we get as part of our subscription to RSPB and knew it would fit in with the theme.
I coated it with Ranger Multi Medium Matte Gel..
…placed it face down where I wanted the image..
My Speedball brayer came in handy to ensure a smooth image - then I left it overnight to dry
Next step - wet it again!!!
A good spritz of water..
..and then rub off the paper with my finger - a little bit came off without leaving the image..
..so I just stuck it down again and left it for a few hours before trying again - much better..
..and the bits that weren't I just filled in with paint!
I really love making image transfers as you never know what you will get!
Next a napkin beach hut stuck with Multi Medium Gel too
My fisher lad now has some shelter and somewhere to store his fishing gear before he takes his fish home for tea!!
Some moss, coloured with Ranger Alcohol inks - I used Blending solution to get a range of greens..
..and stuck it on with some food container netting using Glossy Accents…can't fault this for holding onto anything!!
My shells were also stuck on with Glossy Accents and then some Distress Stickles added.
Finally the cloud - an Impression Obsessions quote onto a hand cut cloud - with a Silver Signo Uni ball Pen lining
I am taking this to our caravan - a little reminder of how close we are to the sea!
Don't forget when you enter the challenge you are in with the chance of winning a 50$ voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp shop!
Edit - we lost our internet connection here at home this morning - hopefully back to normal now and I can come visiting!!
Thanks for looking, Chris
