I have used a couple of Paper Artsy stamps that I bought on our trip to Edinburgh - with a plan to use them at Christmas but I think they fit in well as a Sympathy card or just a plain Thinking of You card.
I cut the shape and added distress ink. I stamped the plain branch across the card and the one with the bird onto the shape.
I used quite thin pads to stick it onto the card and then used a black pen to extend the branches.
Now, if you are thinking I may have a had a fall - stop worrying!
It is time to join Bluebeard and Elizabeth at the Altered Book Lover for T stands for Tuesday and we have been out and about!
We decided that despite the weather forecast predicting cold weather we would go up to our caravan. We have central heating and an electric fire…and I also have a hot water bottle and bedsocks so I knew it would be warm inside.
It was quite sunny when we went too, so the sun had taken the chill off.
On Friday we decided to go to Settle - one of our favourite places to visit and somewhere we did consider buying a caravan before we found our ideal spot!
As we drove closer we could see that the tops of the mountains had snow at the very top - the first we have seen this Winter.
We went to the Naked Man Cafe for lunch. The cafe has extended in recent years, the bakery is in the original cafe to the left.
Potato and leek soup and a toasted cheese, tomato and onion sandwich…and my water.
It was quite full when we arrived but there was still a steady stream of new customers.
It started to snow just as we finished our meal so we decide to head back.
As we got closer to Kirby Lonsdale there was no snow so we stopped for a walk.(I showed you pics here of our Autumn walk)
The Bridge looks so different without the greenery
I hope you enjoyed your trip with us.
I look forward to seeing some of you at TIOT over the next two weeks.
I will also be on my way to visit the T group over at Elizabeth's blog.
Thanks for looking, Chris
Wonderful art, photos, food - what more can one want? A TASTE of that gorgeous food, of course! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful and photos wonderful. Realy great post.
ReplyDeleteHave happy time, Chris ♥
I had a grilled cheese sandwich for my meal yesterday, but never thought to add tomato and onion to it, which sounds wonderful. The little side salad looks great, too. It may have been used as filler or to brighten the plate, but it certainly looked wonderful to me. And I agree that water is the way to go, especially when eating out.
ReplyDeleteI really like that card, and never thought about using a solid rubber stamp as a silhouette. Sometimes my brain just doesn't connect the two, and that's why some people have told me all my life that I have no brains. In fact, I heard it so often when I was young, it took until I got accepted into a Ph.D. program for me to realize I wasn't dumb, just scatterbrained at times. But you certainly opened my eyes when you shared this card.
Thanks for sharing the card AND that wonderful lunch and water with us for T this Tuesday. Really enjoyed the trip, too, and I didn't even have to drive.
Mmmmmmn I like the sound of your lunch. You have made me feel quite hungry. We have some snow on the mountain tops here, but not quite as much as yours.
ReplyDeleteNice card too.
Hugs

Sorry to be so late--had some sporadic internet issues here, but I really appreciate you visiting for T Day.
ReplyDeleteThe drive looked so pretty--so nice to see the snow covered mountains and yet some green.
The silhouette is really pretty and a theme that does appeal to me. Hopefully, I will come up with something.
