While the Uk is still having grey and damp days, over at Art Journal Journey, where Chrissie is this month's host, we are heading into a Winter Wonderland.
An insert in with the Radio Times had a lovely image of a Polar Bear family that had me heading to my journal!
I used a mask that I have had for ages - not sure where from. but it is a winter scene. Used blues and lilac and added another stencil to make some rays. I used multi media gel to make an image transfer. I drew round some of the trees and added the words (Paper Artsy ESN18 by Sarah Naumann)by inking them separately. Finally I added some 'shards' of organza in blue and grey and added some stickles.
For those of you with snow at the moment I hope it is not causing too many problems.
I would also like to link to the Anything Goes challenge at Moo Mania and More.
Thank you for all of your lovely comments recently, they are most appreciated!

By the way things are going weatherwise I really do think that you are beautifully predicting the next phase of our Winter. This can be reinforced by the pics I've had from Germany of heavy snow and my grandies tobogganing. We usually get their weather a week after them!!
ReplyDeleteThanks to the Radio Times that you were inspired to make such an appropriately lovely page.
Lots of love

Lovely artwork Chris!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, What a beautiful page. You just had to use that beautiful polar bear. He goes so well with your lovely background. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteBRRRR! I really enjoyed the polar bears transfer you created for this page. It made it special and chilling at the same time. Yes, it's cold here, but I'm trying hard to warm up a bit. This is a really lovely entry and gave me inspiration, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful polar bear page Chris! Love the ice, and the cool blues are so perfect! Seems we are having the same weather still, damp and dingy! happy weekend, hugs :)
ReplyDeleteLovely page .. I can feel the cold! Beautiful polar bears and a great focal point for the piece. Hugs, Donna
ReplyDeleteYou've created a great icy blue chilly place for that polar bear family.

Beautiful Arctic setting for those wonderful polar bears... with all those jagged ice palaces and mountains, it's as majestic as they are.

Another wonderful art journal page; you really crank them out, and I'm REALLY gonna do it one of these days, you just wait and see! I love your icy representations--the "shards" of organza, the blues and that sparkly stickles--yes, I see it! You've got me shivering, but I think that's because we are finally getting winter here. It is our winter, damp and yuck, but our "normal" winter weather, and I quite like it. It gives ma an excuse to be inside and craft!
ReplyDeleteSo WHAT is my secret to my photography! I sure would like to know. I think it is a creative skill I am sadly lacking in! Hugs!
that should be a question mark after my question! Duh!
ReplyDeleteI love both of your polar bear pieces! How wintery and cold and fun!
