WOYWW 302 (for bargain hunters)

It's been a whiz of a week and I can hardly believe we got so much done! I could tell you, but that's not what I'm here for - Julia and the gang at What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday want to see your desk in all it's glory - or not!!!
Mine has a treat on it
As you can see a few bits and pieces out ready for starting something new - including a largish piece of water colour paper!
Dumped on top of that a new purchase - at a bargain price!
Ages ago I found a refill pack for this at TK Maxx for £3 - thought I  might buy the container but nearly fainted when I saw the price - £18! Last Wednesday we set off to the cinema, when we got there they had taken off the film we went to see and we couldn't go to the later showing as we pick up our GD! What to do?….lunch, then what?…shopping!! We had a wander around the Trafford Centre (for those abroad - a shopping mall)Bought some clothes in the M and S sale, popped in to the newly opened Lakeland kitchen shop - now I never go in there and come out empty handed(it's the law!!)and then hubby suggested we go across to Home Sense - across the walking bridge.
The first thing I saw was this! Grabbed it in double quick time then ended up buying paint brushes, paper, the little wooden embellies you see front desk and some rolls of fancy paper edgings, back left!! As well as that hubby also got some euros as the rate was very good! So our little cheap trip to the cinema(we have vouchers) turned out to be very expensive!
I now have two of these as hubby had a trip to town on Monday and brought me another back - I am going to be so organised!!!
I have found out by the way that Hobbycraft are also selling these at £7 (online, but may be in the stores too)So if you are looking for a bargain….

Now I must get ready, we are planning seeing 'Suite Francaise' today!

BTW if you want to see what I've been up to you can scroll down here!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. What a bargain buy Chris...even if you were tempted to spend a little more than planned ;-) Sometimes these things just cry out insisting you buy them don't they? :-)
I'm resting up at home today to hopefully shift this chesty cold my little twinnies passed on to this last week so am enjoying my bloggy visits this week.

Glad you found such fab bargains, have you visited the new Range in Eccles yet? So good to have a place close by to get the basics :-) xxx

  7. Oh what a lovely shopping day! I've been to the Trafford Centre years ago and was quite impressed as it was then the first of its kind. I am a Lakeland addict. Just as well I live in Spain or I would be buying something every week. I used to do huge orders for myself and the girls at work too. That is a handy storage box, the magnetic one. I had never heard of that. What a good idea. I have several dies and I can never find what I want and especially the little bits get lost very easily. Well done you.
    Have a great week,

PS I'm thinking of our fellow desk hopper Shoshi today who's operation has been postponed yet again! I can't imagine how she must be feeling.

  11. Hi Chris, Hobbycraft do have the Art bins in store, they were on special offer which made me feel a bit sick as I paid a lot more for mine some time ago but might just get another as they are such a good price. Have a great week, Angela x 28

  12. £7 down from 18 is fantastic!!! Sometimes I think we spend just as much on the perfect storage box as we spent on its contents!!! So grab those bathing when they happen! Thanks for letting us know about it too.

  13. Love the storage box, Chris. Well done, finding such a bargain. It always pays to shop around. thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately with everything that's been going on since my diagnosis mid-Jan., my creative mojo has fled. I am not worried, because I know it will return when I am starting to recover, but meanwhile everything has had an effect on my M.E. and I am very exhausted and not able to spend time in the studio. I am resting, and hoping that this second postponement will be of short duration.

    Happy WOYWW,
