Come Fly With Me

Hi everyone, we have a new theme at Art Journal Journey and with that new theme of course we have a new host but before I introduce her I would like to thank Matilde for her excellent hosting in June.

This month we have Alison, also known as Craftytrog - you can find her blog here.

Her theme is 'Come Fly With Me' and is looking for things that fly - so quite a wide scope there and a theme I am really looking forward to once I return home.

I have a happy little bird...

..well, he is now he's let go of his worries. Like me, he is learning that he can't do everything and sometimes you just have to let go and not dwell on what you can't get done!

I made my page by painting blocks of colour then adding layers of stencilling and stamping, the main image, as are the stamps and stencils I used, are by Aall and Create. The stamp I used was stamped on to the page then onto a piece of card, coloured and cut out and attached to my page so that the understamping matched.

I stamped the quote onto some blue painted card - using a Paper Artsy set designed by Alison of Words and Pictures blog and added an Aall and Create Tiny Word die cut.

This is a scheduled post, please forgive me if I don't get to comment on your own entry until I get back from France - won't be long now!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. This is a beautiful first entry using Alison's theme. I especially like the background with all the stencils you chose, but the bird is definitely the star. I like how you lifted it off the page. I am actually expecting it to fly away trouble free very soon. Thanks for sharing it with us at Art Journal Journey using Alison's great theme.

  7. That is so true, Chris! And it's definitely a lesson I have to learn - sometimes I just have to let go and know that I cannot get everything done!!! I love this lesson and your gorgeous artwork. The blocks of color in the background are beautiful, and the bird and flowers looks so pretty as the centerpiece. Thank you for sharing this lovely page with such a meaningful theme! Hugs, Sharon
