My Garden….in my journal and photos!

I have made what will probably be my last entry for Yvonne's fabulous theme of 'In My Garden There Is' at Art Journal Journey .
I had so hoped to join in more with this - you know how I love gardens, but sadly I have been rather busy lately!

I used some Inktense pencils and a water brush down one side of the page in my A6 Pink Pig journal/sketchbook

I then stamped randomly with parts of some Carabelle Studio stamps.
I stamped, coloured and cut out the Carabelle Studio leaves (I had been using them for something else too)using some smooth card.

We are hoping for gardening weather over the next few days - we didn't get much done last week!

Luckily there had been enough rain to keep things looking fresh!
Unfortunately too much rain for this Hydrangea - I think it will need pruning in the Autumn

I can never remember the name of this yellow flower - but once we had rescued it from being strangled by ivy and hawthorn it has bloomed beautifully.

The decking is looking good this year too.
The Fuchsia in the little border by the wall is overshadowing the little Lacecap Hydrangea...
…and right at the back has gone a bit wild - but my tree stump is still rotting away for the insects and the bees love this area

Thank you for your kind comments of late - I really will try to catch up with everyone next week - in between medical appointments - and other exciting stuff -it's going to be one of those weeks!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Wow!!! You can tell you love gardening - here in the states we call it having a green thumb. It would appear that you have tons of energy - you are so productive and your gardening and your travels. Oh my word. Tell me, do you cook?

Your journal page is lovely, but the photos of your garden and deck are simply incredible. You really DO enjoy going to garden centers, don't you?

I hope your dr appointment is favorable. And I hope you find time to breathe, too (says the person who still can't seem to)!

I love LOVE your AJJ piece (Inktense pencils/blocks are fab).
Your garden and photos are beautiful... re that yellow flower,
I couldn't see clearly but wondered if it was a Hypericum (Rose of Sharon?).
Wishing you a good week.

Super post and your page is more than charming. Your garden iust thriving and I love it's informal style. Plant growing the way Nature intended with just a bit of help to keep them in order.
Is the plant in question a Hypericum (St John's Wort)? I love the mix of colours on the decking especially with that big splash of purple.

Oh CHARMING indeed Chris!
Lovely page you created it looks deceptively simple but your layers and textures have stories to tell.
What a beautiful and colorful garden you have.
Really splendid.
Our naughty deer that visit would be suffering from stomach aches if they had so many yummy offerings.
They ate my entire blue hydrangea bush except for one single pompom that I rescued and brought inside. I almost cried.
Thank you for this beauty break.
Happy beginning of the weekend to you oxo

Yes, definitely hypericum. That's your unidentified plant. Your garden looks spectacular. What beautiful healthy plants. You must be very green fingered.
It's a lovely time of year in the garden....so many flowers coming and luckily for me, it's not too hot.
Have a great week, Chris!
