T Stands For Taking A Walk Or Two

Hi everyone, the weather picked up last week, well, slightly warmer and a few outbreaks of sun at least!

We took the opportunity to get out and about locally.

Fletcher Moss is a favourite of ours and not far from home.

The show of Spring flowers has begun

There was less on show at The Carrs when we took a walk before doing our shopping last week.

We watched a tree creeper go up this tree but my phone camera missed it - I'll get hubby to check whether he got it and try to show you next week
I was quite excited to see the Hawthorn leaves forming shoots.....
...and catkins

Can you see a Rhino here is it only me?

Today we took ourselves off to Lyme Park
Only a few photos here - there will be more next week

The geese were being really noisy.
Afterwards we went to a nearby garden centre where we had free coffee each and a cake(of course) We had had light lunch so I allowed myself a whole shortcake swirl - I haven't had one of these for years and it...was...delicious!
I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth at The Altered Book Lover for T Stands for Tuesday with a smiling hubby and our coffee and cakes(his favourite carrot cake)
Thanks for looking, Chris

RED...very red

Hi everyone I have had this page completed for a few days but life took over and I just didn't get to the computer to post.

It's now become my final page for Erika's 'Seeing Red' theme at Art Journal Journey.

I must thank Erika for my new found love of red on my journal pages - it's  been a great theme.

My page divides roughly into 6 with green mainly in one sixth to balance the red.

I used all kinds of items from my stash too so the paper mountain is getting smaller!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Follow your heart!

Hi everyone, I came across a partly finished page in an old journal so thought it was time to do something about it!

The red paint(clearly a paint brush clean) and the red hearts were on the page. I found - by accident - that part of the stamp I was using, if stamped three times in a triangle made a heart. I added some pen marks and part of another stamp and then (another find in my stash) the scooter and sidecar, which must have been on a birthday card. The Tim Holtz quote was on my desk, waiting to be used.

I am joining Erika who is at Art Journal Journey with her 'Seeing Red' theme for the rest of February.

Thanks for looking, Chris

T Stands for The Ferry

This week has gone so quickly, we've had a couple of lovely walks and The Big Tidy is coming along nicely...but there is sadness with the passing of an uncle.

I will start with joining up with T gang over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog 'The Altered Book Lover' for T Stands For Tuesday.

As you know we stayed a couple of nights in Nantes at a lovely B and B with a small enclosed garden. The Breakfast Room looked out over the garden.

Breakfast was traditionally French style with plenty of fresh coffee as well as juices.

There was a small area to sit and look at books about the area.      After breakfast we set off for Cherbourg - the weather wasn't so good to start with so just a few gloomy pics

By the time we neared Cherbourg it brightened up a bit and we had hopes for a good crossing in the morning.

The Amorique is one of Brittany Ferries newest ferries and very different from those in the 80s and 90s - when my ex and I took our three boys on holidays.

Goodbye France

We went up on deck - it was so windy. we didn't stay long

We went to the restaurant for some lunch - fish and chips - not really memorable but warming!

More drinks too - a last Orangina for me and fizzy water for hubby.

We settled down for a while, with another drink, until we had to start packing our bags when we spotted the English coastline.
My travel journal and my travel kit are still on the table.
Hello England!
Not the White Cliffs of Dover but the cliffs of the Isle Of Wight.

We arrived back in England to a new monarchy - King Charles will be crowned in May this year.

Thanks for looking, Chris
