...somewhere familiar.
Yesterday was our 21st Anniversary so we decided to go back to familiar ground!
Our journey wasn't so good as the traffic build up on the Motorway prompted us to take a detour - in fact we very nearly changed our minds about going there...but...we made it to Sizergh Castle up in Cumbria.
Very little has changed - some trees and shrubs have been removed to give better views over the lake, but this is still a beautiful garden.
It was sunny and warm and we had table outside.
Hubby had fish and I had chicken with potato and chorizo rosti and wild mushrooms - the chef kindly swapped the kale, that was supposed to served, for broccoli
We are drinking water - of course and no dessert - we saved ourselves for later - I'll show you next week!
This has been a good work out for my new phone camera and then a trial for me as I haven't yet found an easy way too upload photos.
I'll get there.....one day...
Thanks for looking, Chris
Happy anniversary!!! A wonderful place to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary Chris. I am glad you were patient enough to continue the castle as the views are just beautiful. Thanks for taking us along. Hope it was a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYummy and healthy looking lunch. Your walk looks lovely and the castle stately. Looks like a great outing to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Sizergh was a great place for you to celebrate your wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary, too. The castle is still beautiful and the gardens are so lovely. I noticed after you mentioned you were having trouble uploading photos, that one was rotated 90 degrees. Regardless, the flowers were lovely, and I enjoyed the trip. Glad you also shared your meal and water with us for T this Tuesday, as well as your trip to Sizergh Castle. Both meals certainly look healthy and water is perfect for the meal, too. Hope to see you at the Cat, dear.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary, Chris! Your pictures are wonderful and I appreciate you sharing them. My favorites are the castle against the gray sky - so cool! Super yummy looking lunch- your hubby is such a great sport! Happy T-day! Hugz
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! It's great that you had nice weather and a good place for an anniversary lunch.

Perfect venue - happy anniversary. Hope you get to grips with the new camera/phone soon and uploading them.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pictures of your tour and BIG congratulations on your anniversary! I love seeing the photos, and they make me realise how much I miss the English countryside. Swapping kale for broccoli was a good move! Happy T Day, have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to you both! What better place to celebrate than in a garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful garden! And the colours are amazing!
Your meal looks lovely. I love that particular type of broccoli (with the long stems).
I have problems too uploading my photos. It's mainly because my phone is an iPhone (iOs) and my computer is a PC (Windows). So the photos for my blog, I email them to myself (there is a 'share' button on near the photo on my phone) and then I save them in my photo folder on my PC. When I write my blog, which has to be done on my computer as Blogger doesn't like iphones, I just import the photos from my computer. One by one of course because again, Blogger tends to put them where I don't want them, so I import them one by one as I get to them. I hope this helps you until you find a better way.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

Chris, you get to take the most interesting and scenic outings. I am very envious. I love the photo of the orange flower. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say I found your comment this week, thank you so much. :) For some reason I have to go get it out of moderation and I don't get email.
