Hi everyone, I made a quick page for Neet's 'Type' theme at Art Journal Journey.
I don't know why, but I just thought of BOLD TYPE and all sorts of ideas came into my head. I almost used an image of a bear but then remembered the knight image - so here is my page.
I used my new Aged Patina Distress ink along with Brushed Corduroy to make a splashy background and through a few stencils, a TH patterned one, an ancient text one and one with a castle window. I also added some mediaeval text using a Crafty Individuals stamp. The knight was heat embossed with silver and the bold letters are by Stampendous.
The knight and the letters were outlined with a Stabilo all pencil and water.
Thanks for looking, Chris
Good morning, I Love your page Chris
ReplyDeleteI had a little smile when I read that you were going to use a bear but chose a knight instead. I'm loving the aged look of this with the silvery knight with his beautiful blue shield and the shadowy medieval people in the background.
ReplyDeleteLove all the different fonts too.
I love images of knights and other really vintage items, so this page really spoke to me Chris. This is fantastic for Neet's challenge. I love the renaissance details and of course the type too. Hope you are having a super weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI like the new Aged Patina but felt it looked a bit to much like the other blues - not so here. I can see how lovely it looks now paired with Brushed Corduroy. What a lovely background Chris and how appropriate does it look linked with the knight.
ReplyDeleteAdore the font used for 'Bold Type' - everything here looks Medieval - thanks for joining again in with my theme at AJJ.
Hugs, Neet xx
A fabulous page Chris, I love the knight image, and the colours you used!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,
Alison
Gorgeous page Chris, love the knight in shining armour! Have a great weekend, take care! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea with BOLD TYPE! The knight is marvelous with his embossed silver texture and the Salvaged Patina color. The fellow knights in the background are terrific for adding depth to your page. Cool details with the stencils and text. Bold type are perfect words for the theme and I think you could make art pages til the end of the month with any variety of bold characters...pun intended.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome image to go with style of type, a great inspiration page for us all Chris.

ReplyDeleteBefore I even read that you had chosen castle windows and medieval text, I was going to compliment you on the background you chose which is so appropriate for the knight. Well conceived, dear. It's quite charming and lovely, Really great for Neet's theme at AJJ, too.
