Hi everyone, what a whizz of a week! It was very hot here last week, even to the point of heat wave warnings in parts of the UK. We didn't feel like doing much but just had to, although we did flop on occasions! The time does seem to have gone very quickly though!
One thing that did give me a boost was the arrival of a fabulous package from our lovely hosts - Bleubeard and Elizabeth. It also had some great stamps on too but hubby removed them before disposing of the envelope - they are somewhere safe!
Thank you so much Elizabeth - it was a lovely surprise!Last week we took a cool walk in Fletcher Moss Woods before going food shopping!
We decided to take a path we had never been on before, although it did lead to somewhere familiar. It was another opportunity to do some Forest Bathing (see my post here)
...blown from the trees
There are instructions on how to Pond Dip - something I used to do with school children when I was teaching (always with an eye out for the dreaded frogs!! Sorry, frog lovers)After listening to the birds, walking in dappled sunlight and looking at smelling the plants we came to the river.Feeling refreshed we went and did our shopping...
Such a beautiful ATC to celebrate T Day - love it! I enjoyed walking with you too, with all the shaded areas, woodland is perfect for the hotter weather that we have been experiencing 😁. Looks like you had a great time - Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeletea very thoughtful package and art from Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the walks being called "forest bathing"! Thanks for taking me along , and happy T day!
Nice gift and some wonderful photos. Have a great day today.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, enjoy your mail, and you have such lovely areas to take a walk in-so nice to be able to do that. It has been super hot here too-stay cool hugs and Happy T Kathy
ReplyDeleteI loved Elizabeth's ATC and was lucky enough to get one, too. Lovely walk and T Day drink after. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteSeveral of those postage stamps I used on your envie are so old, I had to ask the postal clerk if they were still good. She assured me they were. From the designs, I think they are from the 1940s. I know Lisca would have enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteYour walk looks so cool and enjoyable. Not severe heat like we have here. In fact, we are under a heat warning for the next three days where heat indexes are to be above 115 F (45-46 C). I would love to walk with you and do a bit of forest bathing.
Lovely shot of T with his coffee. Thanks for sharing your lovely walk, and your coffees with us for T this Tuesday, dear Chris.
Enjoy your lovely ATC. Gorgeous photos, as always. Take care, happ T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWonderful ATC from Elizabeth and Bleubeard. And I can relate to the heat-we had it too. But your walk in the woods looks so lovely, and cool. It amazes me all the beautiful walks you have around you. Hope it was a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteA fab ATC to receive, Chris, and fun that saved the stamps even.
ReplyDeleteI really love the concept of forest bathing and it appears youd did a wonderful job. I also am intrigued by pond dipping too which I have not done but can see my three grandsons loving. We have three ponds right here in the backyard so I have no excuse not to try it (other than the bugs, snakes, frogs, and mud - lol). Always good to see where you two have been and what you are drinkng. Wonderful post and happy T-day!!! Hugz
Now that was some forest bathing! I even got some vicariously. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of the big green spotted frogs but I do love toads. ;)
You have the perfect place for forest bathing. That's a concept I love. It looks so refreshing! Happy T Day :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures of your walk through the forest! Those trees lining the path are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Tea Day,
Kate
