Hi everyone, I shouldn't really be here as I owe blog visits to all sorts of folk, including some from last week's WOYWW. If I didn't get to you I apologise. I am cutting down on some stuff so hopefully I will be here more often over the next year (at least until September).
Julia our host at The Stamping Ground did a great job on Saturday setting up the zooms.
The zoom crop helped me remember why I joined WOYWW in the first place- you're such lovely bunch and I'm glad hubby persuaded me that it would be OK to join you - not that I got anything done - much like a real crop except for the eating part - although hubby sorted that out for me with his special minced pork and potatoes(it has special properties that always brings my blood glucose levels down the next day!)
My desk today show signs of a start on Kasia's Advent Calendar! I hadn't realised it started on Saturday so I am once again in catch up mode!
Here is the junk journal I made especially - the cover is one of those plastic bubble wrap type covers from the company whose name starts with an A that we've been using far too much since March!
I painted it with Paper Artsy Frescos that usually dry so quickly and seemed to take an age this time. Fortunately nothing has been fastened together. I like to rearrange the pages sometimes so I'll be adding elastic tomorrow for a temporary hold!
My Christmas lights are there permanently to be used as am occasional bit of brightness on darker days but today they are here especially for you!
Thanks for looking, Chris
It was great to see you pop up on Saturday even if we didn't get to speak - that's the only thing with virtual meetings, you can't all talk at once! Have a great week and enjoy the advent calendar. Helen #3
ReplyDeleteI’m glad your husband persuaded you as it was a treat to see you appear at the Crop! Your desk is really busy, good to see someone’s crafting because I’m not doing much!

Chris so glad your hubby drafted you to the Zoom meeting!! We had a ball!! It got chaotic at times, but it was such a hoot to hear all the chatter and laughter!! I hope to do it again soon! What a great idea to use the bubble wrap envelope as your cover! I never think about neat ideas like that! I must get out of the box!!! LOL Love your Christmas lights! I might need to add some to my space as well! Blessings for the rest of your week! Felicia, #29
ReplyDeleteI really LOVED seeing you at the zoom meeting on Saturday. You looked and sounded so good, too. Too bad you left so quickly, though. Had to laugh at your name.
ReplyDeleteI STILL haven't joined Kasia's Advent Calendar event. It will be over before I realize it, but I am SO far behind. In fact, I haven't finished my tip-ins, so don't look for yours to arrive till after the new year. Happy WOYWW from #2.
Hi Chis, you're so right it was brilliant on Saturday and can't wait to do it again. I thought I'd never get to the posts today, three deliveries of craft stuff, one delivery of a surprise raffle prize, walking dogs, sorting mum's vaccination, trying to finish some cards and that's without the usual stuff like cooking Lol! Great busy desk and loving the journal too. Wishing you a lovely creative week, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteLove a bit of upcycling especially when you can paint it in fab colours. I'd love to see how you fix the papers in your junk journal. Hugs, Sue #24 xx
ReplyDeleteYour work style must be like mine Chris. Just go for it and not worry about the mess. Love this.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, was lovely to see you Saturday, I've said to a few people it was just like a real crop- lots of talking and very little crafting, just minus the cake, lol.Great use for the bubble envelope, I agree, we use Amazon so much, the vans probably know the way here on their own. Nice to see the Christmas lights, we all need a little boost.Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #12. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a busy happy looking desk... the Christmas lights add a lovely touch of frosty light. Looking forward if not to catching up completely, at least to keeping up a bit better now I've had a bit of recovery time. Unpacking can't really happen until I have flooring down everywhere, and that's probably not until the New Year now... but have been sorting residency/ID card/health insurance stuff, so there's progress being made!

I love your junk journal Chris! It looks perfect for Kasia's Advent challenge. Isn't she a star for doing it when she's 8 months pregnant?!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your pages.

I haven't started Kasia's Advent projects yet Chris and, like you, did absolutely nothing apart from my daily drawing during the Zoom crops. It was good to see you and everyone else. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteI'm getting a late start, too, on the advent prompts but it looks like a lot of fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI do like a good bit of bubble wrap, I could pop it all day! I have some saved to add to something I thought about making a few weeks ago, but have forgotten where I put it! Nice Christmas lights, we've got all ours up now..none in my craft room though! Must put some up ready for the next woyww! Have a great WOYWW week, Stay Safe. ((Lyn)) #15
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're having fun 😀. Thanks for lighting up the full day here with those beautiful lights! I hope you've had a lovely week and wishing you a very happy birthday weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, still following your blog. Sorry there's been no Happy stampers this year. I believe it's your birthday today. If I'm right Happy Birthday, Tony and I hope you've had a lovely day. Chris O
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Chris! Does this mean you're going to start blogging again? We'll find somewhere to meet after Covid has gone away! Chrisx

ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,

No I don't think I'll blog again. Not been doing much lately. Love to meet up once we're allowed to though. Cx
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, I'm sorry to read that you've not been feeling too well but I'm pleasedd that you seem to be on the mend. Your house is looking very festive and your lunch looked fab. You take good care of yourself and if I don't get chance to speak to you again before the big day, I wish you a peaceful Christmas and all the very best for 2021 xx
