Second on the second and the Paris Metro

Hi everyone, what a week this is turning out to be!

A large image from another blog is blocking most of my top blog page.

Any ideas on how to remove it will be gratefully received!I have been trying for around an hour now!

I'm here with my second page for Art Journal Journey and my 'Hold The Line' theme.

Thank you for all the lovely comments yesterday!

You all know how much I love Paris and after quite few visits I have one or two old but free maps from our hotel - I always need a new one as they get unfolded many times some days and get a bit frayed around the edges.

I did some random stamping on the map and added Azoline's Paris Buildings stamp on some tissue. It's from Carabelle Studio if you need to know.

I added the couple here doing the same as we do - walk where we can but use the Metro to go longer distances.

It is also the 2nd Of October - this year has flown by so I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for a second look at a previous post.

It is not about the Metro but about a disused railway line that has been turned into a botanical garden

This extract comes from May 2016

Now for some more of those Paris photos.
We went to the Promenade Plantee which we have visited a few times, it was of course, the perfect place to visit in Springtime!

The apartments along the the way take a pride in their balconies.

We walked further along the old railway garden and saw some new gardens

We think this must have been one of the stations on the old railway line and it is where we came down for a well earned cup of coffee.

Thanks for looking - if you can!
Chris

  1. Hi Chris, I saw your comment on my blog. I think the giant image is coming from the link on your left sidebar - Some of my Favourites- 4th one down, Hermine's Place. This image https://herminesplace.files.wordpress.com/2020/10/p1040179-watermerk.jpg If this has just appeared then it could be something they changed on their site like adding this giant image. It could be blogger of course but all your other thumbnail images are OK so I would guess it's at their end and they might not know either. If you remove the link from your favourites that will take care of this current problem, but then you won't have them in your favourites any more. I don't know what options you have for the links in your sidebar, ie whether you can take the image away or resize it, but what I suggested above will solve it for now so people can see your posts. If you need more help, let me know Elle xx

  2. Hey Chris if you don't want to remove Hermine's link you could also try switching off the thumbnail image in your bloglist widget in your layout settings. Then you could keep all your favs but lose the thumbnail, at least until she fixes the size of the image :) Elle xx

  3. I know how you adore Paris Chris, your journal page certainly shares the love with it's map and stamped background image. I can image you and Mrs Chris' heads on those two lovelies enjoying the scenery.
Yes blogger is having us all chasing our tails but what ever you did makes your page perfect in Paris page visible to me.
Have a great weekend Hugs Tracey xx

  4. I have a map page made for this month too. Great minds do think alike. I do really love your Paris map page. I love the building stamp, and I recognize a few. And adding the couple who must be enjoying their visit pre-covid times is a great addition. Glad you got your blog back working! Hugs-Erika

  5. I adore your latest inspirational page for Art Journal Journey, Chris. It is beautiful. I know how much you like that stamp. It has served you well over the years. And that couple look like they are enjoying the walk, too. Thanks for an obviously inspiring entry for your theme at Art Journal Journey.

I definitely remember your second look post. I remember the balcony shot and the wall (in the next photo) that reminds me of the living wall at my botanical gardens. Thanks for bringing back this beauty as your second look on the 2nd. It was a joy to see it again.

  7. I love your 'hold the line' journal page! The metro lines and the Paris association. Beautiful (and lovely memories).
I think most people will have sweet memories of Paris. I have been several times. Once when my son was 12 and we decided to hop on a night bus and spend a day in Paris. He was thrilled!
Another occasion, I was expecting a friend coming from the USA. The booked a flight to Paris as she thought that was close to Amsterdam. I had promised to pick her up from the airport.... So I asked my grandmother if she would like to come with me and we got a train and booked a hotel. Great time we had.
I enjoyed the Paris photos from 2016. Especially the planting along those steps. Fabulous.
    Happy Second on the second,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  8. That's a great page with all the metro lines. Thanks for a super theme as coincidentally it fits in with what I am doing now.
I enjoyed the visit through Paris as I've never been there.
How strange about the strange image on your header. New Blogger is acting a bit funny and it kept changing my text font but just in little bits and I had to keep changing it back.
Hope you get it all solved soon.

Using the map was a great idea. I hope you got the blog problem sorted, new blogger does seem to be causing a few problems.
