I think the image itself is a happy one to start with...
....the little bird taking a pause from singing his song to look at you and tell you to 'Be Content'
I started this page so long ago that I can't remember how it started, but I'm guessing it was a mop up page!
I stamped this new AAll and Create stamp by Bipasha and then added some stencilling and a stamped border...and then stopped - I knew it needed something else but couldn't come up with anything! With the help of Instagram I had some suggestions and added words and then I added some more Distress Oxides along the side, which I spritzed and dabbed with a tissue to tone it down!
The quote is one of Dinah Wakley's tissue squares.
We are going to our afternoon workshop at the Whitworth Art Gallery today but are driving in rather than use public transport although I'm not sure that it will make a great deal of difference!
Meanwhile we are being content with what we can do.
We went out for a walk yesterday to Styall - a lovely sunny day with a strong wind - very bracing!
We also went to the garden centre for a coffee..
..more photos next week at TSFT!
Thanks for looking, Chris

I'm with you about the covid-19 virus. But your page sure makes me happy. It says spring! Thanks for sharing it with us at Eileen's challenge at Art Journal Journey. Much appreciated Chris. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeletePositivity is definitely going to be vital in the time ahead - just been musing on the same thing in the post I've just written. Your page hits the mark with that sweet bird and his soothing words. The soft colours and layers in the background are really pretty too.

As news of this virus gets worse by the day, I am happy to see you have put a positive spin on things for a change. One of the things we were told was we should not allow the fear to overtake our lives. I'm practicing social isolation, something that is hard for you to do, since you live in a "community" setting. I think this is a very calming and peaceful entry and a lovely journal page for Art Journal Journey using Eileen's theme.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the positive page! We all could use a little contentment right now, I think. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see pictures of flowers at the store instead of empty shelves. A lovely page you created too - we need to be more content and not panicky. THanks for your lovely thoughts.
ReplyDeleteA really beautiful image to use for your positive thinking page Chris. This virus is going to be on everyones mind just now and if not the news broadcasts are sure adding to the stress.
ReplyDeleteStay safe my friend and thank you for linking this to Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey.
Yvonne xx
