Hi everyone - it's the lack of tidiness that is getting to me - we seem to be still walking around boxes and some stray bags!
The bags will soon be gone - we still have Christmas presents to exchange and are doing this on Saturday! The boxes...still have items in them that need swapping with some of the things we have already but the ones from the caravan are better and we are slowly getting that done!
In my craft room I have to admit that I have a problem...its scraps - boxes of them ...I threw some away but having looked in some of the boxes I know I could use most of them...one day...! What would happen if I didn't have them? Nothing! Would I miss them? Probably not...so I have a problem, there, it's out in the open....what next??
I did start a new junk journal! I used some papers that I had at the caravan and lots of scraps have started to be stuck onto pages..
Bits of wrapping paper, lots of leftover master boards even and paper bag that makes this last page!
I'd like to enter at Art Journal Journey for Jo's 'Something New' theme although of course my new journal is full of old stuff!!
I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth at T Stands For Tuesday too today!
We got back in the routine last Saturday with shopping trip with coffee halfway round
Hubby was determined that he wasn't going to smile...
..but three photos on and he couldn't keep a straight face!
We also managed a short walk the other day..and a break from sorting!
You may remember a couple of years ago we went to the Christmas Winter Garden to see the lights - when we visited Dunham this time it was daylight but it was interesting to see anyway!
First Snowdrops!
These lined the entrance!
Time to head home for lunch!
Thanks for looking, Chris
What a super new junk journal! I love how you layered the pieces together on your pages and the robin caught my eye, it looks perfect 😊. I have the same problem, I can't throw anything away either and need to have a sort out as things are getting out of control. So far this year I've been more ruthless when creating pages by trying to make sure my scraps are worth keeping. Thanks so much for joining us at Art Journal Journey, I like the irony that it's a new journal full of old stuff ...lol 😉. Your hubby smiles so nicely too 😁 - wishing you a happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteHi, I love your junk journal-this is more my style for journaling for sure-and a good way to use up saved materials. They are wonderful
ReplyDeleteThe photos are gorgeous too, I am still opening up boxes too-some things will need to be sold-sadly. Happy Y wishes Kathy
A smiling husband is one of the best sights in life :) I love those decorations and the photos of new growth. Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteSuper junk journal Chris! And collaging on the pages is a great way to use up those scraps sitting in the boxes;) Beautiful winter garden visit. The lights are lovely even during the day so I can only imagine lit up at night. Hey hubby, we love your smilin' face , so keep at it:):) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteLovely journal pages Chris and thanks for sharing the gorgeous photos. Happy T day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI love your journal. I am going to get rid of tiny scraps...and bigger scraps that "might come in useful" but in reality won't get used..
ReplyDeleteLoving the photos of the Christmas lights by day - they still manage to look pretty impressive, don't they!
Your new junk journal is going to be great Chris, a super way to use up the scraps. I am with you in not being able to throw things out, you just never know when you may need them.
ReplyDeleteThe photos from your walk looked lovely and snowdrops to see so early.
Happy T day wishes Chris.

Beautiful artwork. You've been very busy and productive. Wonderful assortment of photos. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea Chris to make a junk journal. I think I need to do that also.I just have a few Christmas boxes around and they are driving me nuts, and that is only for a week, and so I bet you are nuts with all the boxes around and for longer than a week. I love the outside photos from your walk. It is really fascinating. Hope it was a happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteYour scraps are a LOT better than my scraps, dear. Or maybe (probably) the way you used the scraps in your junk journal. The compositions are all fabulous and I would love to be able to see these beauties the way you see them.
ReplyDeleteYour walk was amazing. It reminded me of Christmas at Kew that Helen has been showing. Of course, those snowdrops (which I've only ever seen in photos) were amazing, as were the sculptures.
T finally cracked a smile. Actually, he looks like he's laughing. Thank him for brightening my day at T this Tuesday (except now it's Wednesday).
Hi Chris x Your journal pages are absolutely fabulous x I am so in awe of them x I have started a few journals but never finish them, perhaps this will be the year!! I really have to clear my craft room as I have so much stuff its ridiculous !!! Catching up with friends this week so going to make a start on my craft room next Monday !!! at least thats the plan !! x Your photographs are super
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and best wishes
Annie xx
I think artists/crafters all have a problem with too much stuff/scrap. You're not alone, if that's any comfort. The gardens are just gorgeous even without the lights. I'd love to have the snowdrops lining my front walk. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, thanks for taking us through the gardens......truly a beautiful place. I bet it is jaw dropping at night with all the lights.
ReplyDeleteWe still have gifts to exchange too, and will also be doing that this Saturday. LOL!
Happy New Year and Happy.....belated....T-day
I love your new journla stuffed with old stuff, Chris. The backgrounds are so uninhibited and varied. I'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteOh, the stuff we collect. We all love our stuff. And we all know the law of the universe that soon after you throw somthing out, you'll find a need for it!
Seeing the Christmas Winter Garden without the lights was very interesting. You can see exacttly how they created the amazing light show. I love the life size toy soldiers.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Using up scraps is great!
ReplyDeleteGlad hubby couldn't resist smiling.
You find some interesting places to walk! :)
imaginative and so romantic the pages of your book. What a beautiful park, wonderful to see, thanks for the great photos!
ReplyDeletehave nice Day, Elke
Tidiness. Hmmmm, yes, I know...
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the little girl with the roses best!
You made me laugh with your Hubby´s faces :-)
The Christmas Winter Garden is wonderful, and wee, you have real snowdrops already?
Wishing you a nice day off from sorting Irisx
Oh the joys of owning two homes. I remember all that when I closed my van up in Wales and now we have bought another up country and had to buy new stuff to fill it. Luckily we had the crockery left over so some things we were ok with. What a shame you left as we bought - we could have met up up there for a cake and coffee.
ReplyDeleteLike the way you have used some of your stash for your pages, you are awfully good at putting things together like that and you have some lovely work there.
Pity I didn't know about Dunham Massey being decorated like that - we've missed out again!
Hugs, Neet xx
Fabulous scrappy pages in your junk journal - it looks wonderful. Maybe that's something I should do as part of my packing up/sorting of the craft room in preparation for moving. There are bound to be scraps I can't bear to throw away, but it seems ludicrous to ship boxes of scraps across Europe!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the Christmas lights unlit - they add such cool sculptural details to the trees and plants.

ReplyDeleteThose photographs are incredible, so beautiful places !
Wish you a very nice and happy new week, and send big hugs,
Caty
