I suspect that a lot of us are now as Winter is definitely on it's way!
The new Theme at Try It On Tuesday invites you to show us how you will represent 'Cold, cold, cold'.
The Design Team have been feeling cold and this surely shows in their samples - please do take a look!
I have always loved blue and white china and when I unearthed a sardine tin that I have had in my craft room for a while now I wondered if I could create a simple scene.
I enjoyed making this so much that I totally forgot to take any photos! Not that it was hard to make.
I painted the tin with Paper Artsy Fresco Snowflake paint - only one coat required and I dabbed it with some scrunched up paper to give some texture.
The trees in the background are by Crafty Individuals. The other stamps were first stamped in grey archival ink then the stag was embossed with silver and I used the same blue (Versafine Clair Bluebell)to overstamp the holly and to stamp the words. I added some stickles to the holly to give a bit of sparkle
This is also my Day 12 for Art Every Day Month.
As usual the challenge runs for two weeks and there are a few Rules to be followed - please find them here!
Thanks for looking, Chris
Clever Chris. You made an old tin really look like pretty china. And I am with you. Blue and white china is a great combo. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Chris. Love your tin scene
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful, Chris and what a great bit of recycling! It does look like blue and white china - which I also love. Perfect cold scene.

Wow, what an amazing make! I love how you were inspired by the blue and white plates, I remember them well as my mum has some of them 😀. It's such an elegant design and the layers that you created look amazing and those stamps that you used are so pretty too! Wishing you a wonderful week! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!!! xx
ReplyDeletecool! Such a great idea. Love what you created :)
ReplyDeleteI love the elements you chose and how you put them together for this diorama. Lovely! And, yes, it's sooo cold here that your scene feels true-to-my-life lol
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! And the cold theme is appropriate for many of us: Mother Nature decided to set the temperature to extra cold unseasonably early. Brrrr.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous make Chris, this really does look like the blue and white china. Love the little scene in the background and the holly has a very frosty look.

This is spectacular, Chris. You blew me away when you implied it wasn't difficult to make.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
Wow, Chris, this is entirely different from the other inspiration pieces. I have to admit, this would fit nicely in my kitchen. It's a real beauty.
ReplyDeleteLoving what you did with the humble sardine tine Chris.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
This is a fantastic project. I like the combination of blue and white.
ReplyDeleteI had to double check that this was what it is Chris as it reminds me so much of a charger plate my Granny used to serve the Turkey on. Lovely design and those blues really do hit the cold cold cold theme.. So creative.
ReplyDeleteWarmest of wishes Tracey xx
A fab creation Chris, I collect blue and white China and that looks so. I have like It, how clever
