It's Hot, Hot, Hot at TIOT!

Well, that's the title of our new theme at Try It On Tuesday - 'Hot', Hot', Hot!'.
I do hope you will take look at the Design Team's examples - even after the warmer temperatures at the weekend I think they will boost the heat levels and maybe delay the heating going on for a little while longer!! The weather forecast this week is looking good in the UK.

I had something else in mind at first until I found this aerial pic in a magazine of umbrellas on a beach  and then I knew it had to be a journal page!
If you look closely you can see sunbeds peeping out!
I used Oxide Inks and Infusion powders for the base of the page then added the photo, which I tore around the edges. Next I added some stencilling - the shells, a beach umbrella as well as adding some more green to the sea at the bottom of the pic!
I stamped the palm tree, some flip flops and filled in one of the umbrellas. I had some stickers that I bought when I first started crafting(found in a big sort out!!!) so added the chair and the sun, to which I added some gold pen.
Finally added the word stamp. I think I could quite enjoy being under one of those umbrellas on a sunny beach when it does turn cold here again!

The TIOT challenge is, as usual, open for two weeks so do come along and warm us up!!

It wasn't deliberate but my TSFT post, before this one, is about the hot last day we had in Toulouse!

I am also entering this page at Art Journal Journey for Erika's Polka Dots, Stripes,Plaids or Patterns theme.

Thanks for looking, Chris

  2. Oh beach days. To be back at that time again. This is a fantastic piece Chris. I love the colors and design. And you have some pattern going on there also so if you want to link up to AJJ you'd like. Happy Tuesday. Hugs-Erika

  3. Ooh, it would be so lovely to be able to sit out in the garden - or on the sands - and soak up the warmth... but that's certainly not going to happen up here, is it? That wind is biting! It's much better than yesterday's damp cold, though. A great, summer fun filled page, Chris.

  6. A great page Chris and I love how you used the photograph, very creative.
We've had a lovely sunny day, but there's been a bit of a chilly wind blowing - very Autumnal.

  7. What an interesting find that page was Chris, spot on colours and it wasn't until you said that I realised they were sunbeds. Makes me want a beach holiday right now. Superb take on the theme. The weekend was glorious here not that I had chance to enjoy it but I believe the sun has not gone on vacation just yet and we may be seeing a little more of it this week. Fingers crossed we can squeeze a little more from it.. Creative Hugs Tracey xx

  8. Wow, Chris. I agree this is HOT. I love how you used what you had, as well as adding more and more and more. You put a lot into this as well as effort. This was a great entry and also fits well with Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.

  12. What a wonderful summer sunshine page... I love the stencilled waves rippling up the sandy beach, and the chair looks like the perfect place to sit and enjoy the colourful sunset.
