Hi everyone, I am still around although don't seem to get to the computer much these days!
We have had some personal things to deal with lately, nothing major, but had to be dealt with nonetheless!
I have also had to increase my activity levels as my blood sugar is beginning to creep up!
We haven't been up to our caravan for a couple of weekends either as our weekends have been spoken for too!
In between I have been busy preparing samples for February!
I have been taking part in Southerngals 15 minute a day challenge - Use it up - fill it up! Mainly used as a warm up exercise - and have been posting most days on Instagram - mostly via my phone while hubby is driving!!
Today I made a page which is also for Art Journal Journey where Alison is hosting with a brilliant theme - 'Geometric Shapes'
It's in my junk journal and I used a piece of inky paper along with some AALL and create stamps, a circle of magazine paper, a die cut umbel and some squares of my hand made tape(made by picking up paint from my plastic lid palette)I also added some spatter..because I like to!!!
Here are some that I could probably have added to AJJ too...
...and a couple I couldn't..
I will try to make more geometric style pages!
It is at least reducing my scrap pile and I am filling up some almost complete journals too!
Thanks for looking, Chris
These are all wonderful, Chris. I'm certainly impressed.
ReplyDeleteFor the first journal entry, I LOVE how you added the circle. What a very, very clever idea I mist try.
I really like the sentiment you used on the second page. You are the star of that piece.
You certainly have everything geometric in the third journal page, I am in love with the sentiment, too.
I realize the geometric shapes are meat for Alison's challenge, but that bird is the star of this fourth page.
For number five, I can see why you named this Blessings. I like the abstract quality you added to the sun face.
I fear you missed the point in number six. Isn't that a circle and isn't the tag a rectangle? No one says it must all be geometric pieces. It's very clever and now I know how to use the queen's image, too.
In number seven, you have circles in the clocks and stars. I'd say your entire week was filled with geometric shapes, dear. So thank you beyond belief for sharing these with us at Art Journal Journey. I hope all is well in your world, too.
Super pages Chris. You have been on a creative roll lately. And hope you get your exercise in and your blood sugar under control. Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo much to see today Chris, lots of lovely pages with great designs and details. Look after yourself and get those sugar levels down again. Huge hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteSuper pages, but you must take care of yourself, that should be a priority! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wealth of wonder. Fabulous pages Chris and I love that first one so much. I think it is the tape you made (mop up?) with some gold on it - are these flakes? Whatever they add a certain amount of sumptuousness to the whole JJ which is perfect for the background colour that is so rich in itself.
ReplyDeleteAll of them showcase just how clever you are with paper and glue - you turn the merest scraps into art.
Hugs, Neet xx
Sounds like you are very busy as always.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have so many pages with shapes. I am sure we don't realise how often we us these kind of things in our artwork
Love Chrissie xx
I'm sure I read somewhere that the secret of good drawing is to see things as a combination of shapes, rather than as single objects - I think this proves it, really. I've noticed that when I'm most creative, I share what I do less, even if I photograph and scan it -it just doesn't seem as important, somehow... you've obviously been VERY creative. I bet the 15 minutes kickstart is a real boost to your creativity.
ReplyDeleteOut with the old and in with the new...good for you! Sounds as if you've been varying your life a bit and having fun, though I'm sorry to hear about your neighbour and friend. My sympathies. She'll obviously be missed. It's never easy to lose someone we really care about.
Some fab, fab pages here and I especially love the first one. Your journaling is so free and flowing.

A fabulous collection of pages . I often start using scraps but get side tracked, so good for you to keep using them in such a creative way.

I love seeing how other people interpret these artistic endeavors, and your geometric pages are helpful for me. Thx!
ReplyDeleteI have family members with blood sugar issues, and managing those can be challenging. It sounds like you have a handle on it.
I'm googling the 15 minute challenge to see what that's about. I'm unfamiliar with it.
What a great post catching up with your fabulous pages. The first one really made me catch my breath - I love the warm burnished rusty tones, and those delicious metallic squares - and the bee is marvellous.
