I have my Crafty Individuals raven again (can you tell I love him to bits?) I am not sure how he did it but he got a pink rinse!
I started to go grey at 32, my Dad old me that he got grey hair at 18 and my middle son started to go grey when he was about 30 so it is clearly a genetic thing!
A few years, and a few more grey hairs later I asked my hairdresser if he would colour it - he refused, saying it would not look right on me, so I will never know what a blue or pink rinse would look like on me.
I am comfortable(happy even) with my grey/white hair unlike our little raven who is looking as though his bold move may have been a mistake.
I used acrylic paint - smudged on with fingers and made a few spatters. The raven was stamped onto rice paper and you have to believe me, doesn't show on the page but the camera has picked up some white!
I added a few more spatters and some blue on his wings afterwards and the TH Snarky comment!
For some strange reason the stamping seems to have given him another eye, which I think gives him a whole new expression!
Now something to make you smile..I think...
I am joining Annie with This Week's Smiles! On Monday we met youngest son in town for a spot of lunch.
He had asked me if I would help in challenge he taking part in - doing squats (there are some good prizes on offer) for squatober.
So being a good Mum - I did!!
He put a story video on Instagram and I took a couple of screenshots!
He did ask if the hashtags were OK with me!!!
Thanks for looking, we are meeting up with friends later if it's not too wet and windy for them!
Chris
What a great post Chris. I also adore that raven image. And I also really enjoyed your photos doing squats with your son. Go for it Chris! You're looking good. Happy weekend my friend. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see a new face at Annie's Friday Smiles. I think I like a raven with a pink rinse better than a black one. They are beautiful birds but with that beak they can be quite intimidating close up. But this is great stamp and so is your journal page.
ReplyDeleteAs for doing squats, my days of being able to manage that are long gone, but good for you for trying, and in a public place too.
By the way, I had a friend at teacher training college with completely grey hair, and she told me her mum was the same. She didn't colour hers. She had some lovely waves and she just kept it as it was meant to be.
Have a good weekend. Kate x
I just had to buy the Raven after seeing you use it, I quite like his pink hue! I, for one, am so wishing that my hair goes fully gray soon instead of half and half - yours always looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWell done on doing the squats, bravo!! Hugs, Anne xx
That's awesome seeing you doing squats with your son!
ReplyDeleteThe quote is just perfect for the pink raven. :)
I had a good laugh at you and your son squatting. I loved it, and it was a great addition to Friday Smiles, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI started getting white hair at 18. My grandmother told me she was jealous because she really WANTED gray/white hair, but hers was as brown as it had been since I could remember, when she died. If it's genetics, it probably wasn't on my mother's side of the family. If course, my aunt Betty (Grams' sister) had large streaks of gray in her hair, but I have no idea when she started turning gray.
I think your pink raven is beautiful and far prettier than black. Using this stamp twice must mean it is very special to you (grin).
I am SO sorry, Chris. I forgot to thank you for linking your adorable raven at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteoh what a fun post all around! I love the pink raven:) And cheers to you for squatting with your son;)! Thanks for another great entry for AJJ!
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm loving your raven creations! This stamp is very versatile and looks pretty in pink...lol 😉. Such fun photos too, I do squats every week at my fitness class and can't say they are enjoyable ...lol ...did you enjoy doing them? Happy Friday and wishing you a wonderful weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteA perfect quote for the pink raven - this page looks fun and artsy Chris! Gorgeous ! I like you doing squats with your son. You look super!
ReplyDeleteThank you for another fab entry linked to Linda's theme at AJJ!
Big hugs! Happy weekend!
Susi
good for you! bet you squat better than I could too! love the raven with a a pink rinse!
ReplyDeleteI like your bold raven! I put a green Manic Panic temporary rinse on my hair for a while. It worked great on the gray and lasted well. I've tired of it, though, and I'm just going to let it be gray now.
ReplyDeleteI missed out on the squat challenge. I exercise but don't follow groups and challenges. It sounds like it could be fun :)
I think the pink raven looks fantastic a really fun page Chris.
ReplyDeleteI did smile at the photos, you are very brave letting your son post the video.
Yvonne xx
I love your pink raven. I used to be a 'pink raven' that didn't fit in, but now I'm older that is no longer the case. I'm quite boring now.
ReplyDeleteKudos for doing the squatting challenge! I smiled (and thought of Monday when I will start gym again).
Have a wonderful weekend,
Keep smiling,
Lisca
Hi Chris, great to see you joining in at Annie's. Loving the photo of you too and the journal page too. Have a great weekend, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThe raven looks fabulous with his pink rinse and well done on your squats. My chiropractor has me doing them every day and they do get done as I am brushing my teeth in the mornings lol xxx
ReplyDeleteI love your cheeky pink rinse raven Chris, she's fabulous! Not sure if I could do a squat, so well done you!
