A big comfort!

I have a page for Linda's 'Creature Comforts' theme at Art Journal Journey.
I don't do many pages in my landscape journal and as I had already started a background I could carry on with it.
It was only after I had taken the photo that I decided to look through the few pages and out of all of them only two don't have pink in them!
I had used paint and texture paste through a wild flower stencil for another project but made such a mess the page was abandoned!
Today I added some doodly stamping and used a parchment quote from a little book I came across the other day! I didn't show up very well so pulled it off and stuck the first thing that came to hand - some muslin. The flower (by Brigit Koopsen for Carabelle Studio)had already been stamped on the piece of leftover water colour paper. I scuffed the edges and tucked it in around the muslin! I used a watercolour pencil to create something for the two friends to stand on and then decided to outline them too before using a water brush!

There are two things that I find a comfort here  - one is that through my blog (and now Instagram)I have made so many friends who share my love of crafting! Some I have been lucky enough to meet in person, some I may meet in the future and some I will almost certainly never meet....but...we all know each other so well, how could we ever be anything but the best of friends!

The other little bit of comfort is that when my mojo is playing tricks on me I always have started journal pages somewhere that will persuade it back!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  8. A beautiful page, full of rosy warmth - both in the colours and in the thought. I love that background with the teal polka dots - magic! This album is clearly the home of your 'pink phase' - just like Picasso...

  10. I guess it is your pink journal. Love this page. It has a wonderful vintage feel. And I do like the pink. It is a nice change from the typical fall colors. Happy weekend. Hugs-Erika
