Gelli plate fun!

I was asked a while ago would I run a workshop at our retirement complex so today we had a Messy Morning with five lovely ladies attending! I had deliberately limited the numbers (unfortunately our 6th was poorly) as I don't have enough gelli plates to go around more. I bought two extra plates last week and they will be going to the caravan and two ladies brought their own brayers.
The sun was shining on the Hobbies Room table at first and paint was drying too quickly so we moved the table across into a shadier part!
I had made a couple of sample cards with some prints I made for Brigit's Gelli plate challenge.

The shrieks as they pulled their prints were brilliant!
We moved onto the making part - they had notebooks to cover as well as making a card! I had plenty of die-cuts to choose from and I had done some label printing on the computer.
I haven't asked permission to publish their faces so I have masked them.

The smiling faces of the ladies who made these have also been cut from the photos for now!
Wendy, my HKA came too, instead of doing my ironing, and did an excellent job of keeping an eye on things as well as having some fun herself! You may spot her expert brayering! She was a total star for staying on after her morning shift finished to help me take everything back to my flat too!

As we were packing up I was asked if we could have another Messy Morning so in July we are using Infusions and Brushos!!
The ladies also asked me to make sure they were on the list first!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  2. Well done for running the workshop, what a treat! It looks like you all had so much fun and I can just imagine the shrieks as they discovered what their Gelli prints looked like ...lol 😉. The notebook covers and cards that you all created are amazing! I'm so pleased it went well and you get to play with Infusions and Brushos next, I'm sure there will be some "oohs and aahs" as these powders explode with colour too ...lol 😁. Have great day! J 😊 x

  4. That is a cool thing to do Chris. It looks like fun and I bet the ladies liked their finished products too. :) Gelli printing was a great idea as it is always a wow moment when you pull a print. I bet they will like the next class too. Brushos have a similar effect I think. Hope all is well. Hugs-Erika

  9. That sounds like a real good fun morning Chris. I'm sure the ladies will have enjoyed making art together. The notebooks and the cards all looked fabulous.
This could be the beginning of many mornings like this for you all, how did it feel to be teaching again? Although this workshop looked nothing like a classroom.
