I am loving my Gelli Plate!

Up till this month my Gelli plates have often spent long periods of not being used - my habits have been changed thanks to Birgit Koopsen whose Instagram Gelli Plate Challenge has had me using one of my Gelli Plates every day during this month!

Day 22 had me making Multi Layers
A bit of muddiness to start with, although nothing too horrendous!
Day 23 _Spray inks
One of my favourites - can't with to try this again!!

I placed some torn paper towel on my large plate for the top photo and used stencils for the bottom one.
Day 24 Leaves

I went and foraged around the gardens here and was caught by another member of the Gardening Committee!! Most of these are quite tough evergreen leaves but they did the job OK!
I am looking forward to trying this with some more pliable leaves later this year!
Day 25 Hand made Foam stamps - another favourite!

Day 26 Things from the hardware store - so I raided hubby's tool box - he keeps all sorts of leftovers from his DIY efforts (Oops! hope he doesn't see this!)

Finally, who would have thought I would find something pear shaped to print with!

I will be back with the final five next week!
Meanwhile I would highly recommend visiting Birgit's blog to see some of the videos she has made about how to use a Gelli plate in so many different ways!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. Please tell me spray paint is NOT spray paint, but spray mists. My spray paint comes in a can and is enamel, which I fear would damage any gelli plate.

I was especially impressed with the handmade stamps, the hardware from T's tool box, and the leaves. This seems like you are having lots of fun with this challenge, and I know you will use these in the future in lots of challenges and other projects. I really wish I had room to do this, but I have no space to set it up until after April has passed. LOVE yours, though.

  11. Great prints and ideas Chris! I have to admit the spray inks was my least favourite prompt, I found it too messy. Never thought I'd ever say that! Lol!

  13. I'm a big fan of the Gelli plate, too. Your prints look wonderful. I especially love the foam stamps and the texture they provide. I've tried her recent magazine resist method and cannot stop trying images! My plate gets put away for long periods of time, too, while I'm working with fabrics. Then I get the urge, and out it comes. You've gotten some excellent results.

  14. Love all of your Gelli Prints ♥ I love my Gelli Plates too but haven't used them in a long time. Once I get this room de-cluttered and reoraganized I am going to play with them . Now just to stay healthy long enough to get that done :)
