Christmas Fun

I have another card that was inspired Linda of the Funkie Junkie Boutique,  which is sponsoring this challenge - that means that there are prizes on offer as well as having some Christmas crafting fun!
I love the tree ring stamp(now on my want list!) that Linda used for tag 5 of The Twelve Tags of Christmas so chose to use an old embossing folder to give a wood effect to my kraft card.I added vintage photo DI to emphasis the raised parts. The photo looks very dark as it was another very grey day here!
Of course Santa was the perfect image to go here and I used a very old Tim Holtz set which gets used for at least a couple of cards each year!
I fear I may have ruined my trusty crop-a-dile in my haste - I haven't used it for a while and rushed adding some studs and couldn't add the fourth one, hence the use of the holly leaves to cover up the hole I punched!

I would like to join in the Christmas theme at Moo Mania and More with my card too

I am on my way with another two but have halted proceedings at the moment as hubby caught our table top tree which fell over and seems to have broken - it sits rather drunkenly at the moment and may well mean that we have to go and buy another tomorrow!!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  1. Well Chris, I think your card is every bit as pretty as the tag at Funkie Junkie, although I did like that tree ring stamp. What is wrong with your crop-a-dile? If it's the center part, I guess I'm at a loss, since I only use it for the holes. Can you turn the square to add eyelets? Maybe it just needs to be turned a few times. Of course, I love how you found a way to cover the hole you punched.

Sorry to hear about your tree. You seem to be having all kinds of bad luck with things breaking, and that's not good right at Christmas.

In case you don't post again before Christmas, have a lovely day with T and your family.

  2. I love this cheeky Father Christmas Chris, he's got that old traditional style reminding me of my Childhood. He sits well upon your embossed background. Those brads look perfect as a threesome but sorry to hear about your crop-a-dile, maybe you can pick up a replacement in the Sales.. Good Luck with your challenge. Wishing you a Magical Christmas.

  8. Love your wood panel background - a great alternative take on the wood slice (also strongly tempted by it!) . Eek - sorry to hear about the table, hope you can get it sorted ready for the festive revels.

    Merry Christmas!

  13. Thats really lovely Chris - I adore that Santa image.
I hope your Crop-a-dile is ok and maybe the tree salvagable too - I take it when you said sitting drunkenly you meant the tree and not your husband? :)
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
