We went for a visit to Styal Mill today - you may remember it (look here if you don't)
Our main reason was that a lot more has been opened for public viewing(more another time!)
The flowers are almost over but the seed heads and the colours of the trees more than make up for that!
As you can see folk were wrapped up well even thought the sun was shining!
We also had a nice surprise as an old friend was just ahead of us in the queue in the cafe. She was on 'a mission' so we have made arrangements to meet up again soon!
So…to my page, which started like this..
..and went on to this!
For the background I used my favourite Paper Artsy Infusions and snowflakes stamped with PA Snowflake Fresco paint.
I found this cute baby in a magazine - but I hope his Mama puts some socks on his feet before she takes him out.
I cut some clouds from the same page.
Seeing my good friend Susi's writing the other day I was inspired to use a squeezy correction pen to write the song title and to add some little dots.
I finished off by lining the clouds in silver and adding some doodling.
I do hope you are enjoying my '101 Ways to Keep Warm theme at Art Journal Journey!
Thanks for dropping by today, Chris
Amazing page! The background colours and snowflakes looks so pretty and don't you just love that song too 😁. I'm going to be singing it for the rest of the evening, maybe I'll even look up Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews rendition...lol 😉. Have a Happy Friday! J 😊
ReplyDeleteLong time since I was at Styal - wow! Lovely memories of when my kids were younger, going there with my brother :-) Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteYour page is fab! Great image and superb background. I tried the correction pens a long time ago but they were too hard for me to squeeze well before they ran out...maybe they've improved them? I need to check, hehe!
Some great ideas for keeping warm, Chris...maybe my brain will kick in sometime over the next month...xxx
Love your warmly wrapped up baby, what a fun page! Styal looks beautiful, autumn is always my fave season. Off to bed now with a hottie to warm my cold feet, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI love this adorable page, you created a wonderful background for the little one, who does look cosy ,but would need the shoes to go out in.

Sometimes the brown stalks and stems are stunning. That is true here. Cold or not, it looks like a good place to walk. What a cute little baby in your art page.:) I am having lots of fun with this challenge for sure. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteOMGosh. I thought the sentiment/song title was a STAMP. You did a fabulous job, and it is a great AJJ entry, too. You know how much I love magazine images and this baby is simply precious.
ReplyDeleteI was very impressed with the trees and dead foliage you encountered at Styal Mill. The first picture set the tone for the rest of the visit. I thought the colors in that first photo were intended to be the inspiration for the background of your latest AJJ entry.
Oh yes I DO enjoy the theme and your pages Chris ! Stylal Mill is an all-season paradise - BEAUTIFUL!Thank you for sharing the photos with us!
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled about the lovely Baby you found appropriate to the song - amazing!

I love seeing the scenery where other people are. I appreciate seeing the seed heads left for the hungry critters, and I enjoy the seasonal changes.
