There were some lovely pots but as we were travelling by train it didn't seem like a good idea to buy any!
We had a little wander around in the drizzle!
As it was getting late, we went to a little restaurant tucked away in a corner behind the the cathedral
Of course it's time to share a drink with Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T stands For Tuesday!
At first we were on our own, so I took the chance to take some photos.
Chilled soup for starters
Water to drink with our meal.
The photo I took of our fish main course came out blurred but here is my pineapple and ice-cream dessert….
…and our coffee!
The next day was sunny, we went into a church/abbey and through to the gardens…..
Yay! Pear shaped tomatoes!
After that we visited the Cathedral and then after a quick(late)lunch (in this post)we went to the Toulouse Lautrec Museum which will have to have a post of it's own!
It was still sunny when we came out so we took a walk over the Vieux Pont(Old Bridge)
We walked past the Museum of Miniatures….
…it was closed but a peek at what was in the window showed fabulous details
We walked to L'eglise Madeleine...
…where I picked up some conkers...
Each bus shelter had art posters - this is the only one without waiting queues.
The new Arts centre has a wire cladding and is quite a landmark too!
This traditional bandstand was close to the hotel.
Our view of the sunset on the arts centre.
After this we went to for a meal and the next morning after a short walk to buy gifts we set off for Bordeaux.
I hope to show you the Lautrec museum later this week and something exciting too!
Happy T Day, Thanks for looking, Chris

ReplyDeleteThis is so exiting Chris! I would have been thrilled to see the pottery fair and hard put not to buy anything train or no..lol I love the little balls around the walkways.. Made me think of the store Target here in the US ... it has big red balls out front of its stores..

ReplyDeleteHappy T Tuesday
Such a beautiful place! The old bridge and architecture look amazing and it was lovely joining you and seeing the sights 😁. The restaurant you found is so stylish and your meal looks delicious - yum! Wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing photos of Albi. That new art center looks a bit out of place for the old and gorgeous architecture in the rest of the city. Maybe it was just me, but I enjoyed the older stuff better, including the cathedral and the beautiful bridge.
ReplyDeleteLOVED the bus stop with the Lautrec image. Seems he must be quite popular there (grin). I look forward to seeing his museum because I simply adore his posters. Too bad about the miniature museum. It would have been fun to see more than through the window.
Gosh, you and T had lots of meals on your trip. I eat once a day and would have been stuffed after the first one. Glad you shared the photos inside the restaurant and I loved the idea of chilled soup as a starter. Your dessert looks great, too. Thanks for sharing your water and coffee with us, as well as your meal and the rest of your trip to Albi with us for T this Tuesday.
BTW, please check your e-message.
Oh my gosh - what beautiful photos you share - a fantastic place and absolutely adorable photos! You took me with you chair wise - THANK YOU!
