T Stands for …a trip to the seaside….

….but first it's a Happy Independence Day wish for all those celebrating it!
Just a little journal page with one of my favourite Stampotique stamps - Agatha Star. As I love to star gaze on Summer nights I am joining in at Art Journal Journey with Elizabeth's theme of 'Summertime Love'

Last week while away at our caravan we decided to visit one of our favourite places for an easy walk - Arnside.
We visit here right through the year - the skies are always interesting and we can walk along the pathway by the sea fairly easily when the tide is out as it was last week.
I took some shots on the way back as the wind wasn't blowing in my face by then.

This cafe seems to have closed down

If you look closely you will see a train - we sometimes catch this train to Grange-Over-Sands - the views are amazing!
We had taken a little picnic which, had it not been so windy, would have been eaten while sitting on one of the many benches instead of in the car. We enjoyed watching the birds though including six or seven Little Egrets.
After we had eaten we walked in the opposite direction past the railway station.

This path was what we were looking for…it leads to Sandside..where we took these photos. There is a car park halfway along but it is only a disabled carpark! We didn't walk this time but now we know where we can get on to it!

Back over the station bridge and on to ….
We called in to Beetham Nurseries - they have a tea room and a larger airier cafe where we had a coffee(we also had a scone but had eaten before I took this photo)
"I suppose you want a smile?"

The cafe was just about to shut when I took this on the way out!
I also bought a Calendula which I have pushed into a hole in our wall - I am hoping it will spread!
My favourite part of the garden now looks like this..
The white Hebes has all sorts of insects on it!
Finally, yes, I'll go in a minute….we were treated to this at the end of a rainy evening..

…all in the space of half an hour!

Wishing everyone a Happy T day!
Thanks for looking! Chris

  1. Goodness, what a fabulous post. You and T take the most incredible trips. They may be day trips, but they are filled with fun photos and gorgeous sights.

I simply adore your star gazing Agatha Star. She's simply adorable and oozes summertime love. Are those stars in the sky, stars in her eyes, or shooting stars? Gotta love this beautiful AJJ entry.

I really enjoyed your walk along the beach. Yes, I saw the train. Your photos enlarge nicely. These were simply stunning photos that shared parts of your country most tourists will never see!

T is SO funny. Yes, T, we want a big smile, not a smirk, a sneer, or a frown. I take it you had coffee and he had tea.

I like the idea of the plant in your wall. It is a clever idea, something I've not seen here in the states. And of course, your sunset photos are perfect.

Thank you for taking us with you on your walk and for T this soon to be Tuesday.

  5. Great page you made for Independance Day Chris

Beautiful memories for me of the railway journey across the bridge at Arnside as we made our way home to Whitehaven from Carnforth. Never actually explored there though we did stay at Grange-over-Sands a couple of times. You always find somewhere nice for a snack or a meal and nice that you take the pics and we see your husband--I forget my camera most times so I am the one on the pics.

    Have a Happy T Day

    Love Chrissie xx
