At the moment I am happiest when I can play in my journal! I have had a lot of paperwork to deal with lately - self imposed - I kept leaving my filing away for so long just because the boxes were full and needed old stuff removing - if I had done it months ago it wouldn't have been half as bad!!
At least I am more than halfway through and we are having some time at home. I am of course missing our caravan garden but my page reminds me why I love it so much! I used Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo Distress Oxides to create a rainy background - I am quite pleased that we have had some rain as we won't be around to water the plants! I added a little bit of random stamping and then wished I hadn't - Hey Ho!!
The stamp is a Woodware one which I stamped onto some book paper, inked around the edges and then used water colours to colour the flowers.
I drew in some grass for the flowers to grow on!
The quote is from a Paper Artsy Lin Brown set(ELB06)
I am adding the to Art Journal Journey's link where there are still a few days to join in with Elizabeth's theme - 'Summertime Love'
I am also entering the 'Anything with Flowers' Challenge at Stamping Sensations
Thanks for looking, Chris
This is a very beautiful page and I can imagine how you will miss your wonderful caravan garden. Difficult for me to imagine your dual life and all the organisation it must take

Gorgeous page, love the soft colours, Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYou've made a lovely rainy background with these Distress Oxides. Tim really knew what he was doing when he named the colours.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers on the text look terrific and I'm sure they appreciate the grass for their little feet.
I love the colour combination you used Chris, its a beautiful page.

It's very obvious to me I better not try to comment on every post--I'm way too wordy! But I've enjoyed a good visual catch up at least for these passed two weeks.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous journal page, and I love those images on the book page. I had to laugh at changing your mind about background stamping on this; going through a similar dilemma right now with hand writing on a journal page. I have terrible handwriting! Sending hugs your way!
Flowers are truly your thing. And this latest journal page confirms it. I am feeling the love, too. I really enjoyed this page and loved the flowers. You turned this into a joy to see, especially when you stamped on the book page. So delighted you shared it with Art Journal Journey today, dear.
ReplyDeleteBTW, your package has now been repackaged and is in the hands of the postal people. I didn't check to see if it was too thick this time, and left it in the drop off box. If I happen to get it back, I'll let you know. I'm fairly certain it should go on its way this time.
Gorgeous colours, design and quote Chris, this is a fabulous journal page and yes thank goodness for some rain but I would like the warm sun to come through too. Well done on clearing your paperwork xxx
ReplyDeleteanother great page - love that woodware stamp! hope you get your filing finished so you ca return to your lovely caravan garden.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully crafted work, such a great idea stamping onto the script and then the oxide background which all blend to compliment one another perfectly.

Absolutely delightful page, Chris. The flowers look glorious stamped over the book page and so subtly tinted. The rainy sky behind is so beautiful - great Oxide play. Hope you get your paperwork done. I had a lot of post to sort through on my return... including two bags of mostly nonsense mail from LAST YEAR's absences (from which I'd sifted the important stuff earlier!) so I do sympathise.
