We haven't seen many butterflies this Summer - I'm not sure whether we are just in the wrong places and other folk are getting to see them!
We did see a huge dragonfly though, hovering along the path we take through the wooded part of our walk around the perimeter of our village! It seemed to follow us for a while before veering off. The sun was shining through the leaves and it looked so beautiful!
I wish I could have caught the shimmer on the wings!
I am linking (with crossed fingers) to Art Journal Journey for Elizabeth's great Summertime Love theme.
We are off to visit a garden today - hope we see some butterflies there!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for looking, Chrisx
I've noticed a lack of butterflies this summer, too, Chris. But your awesome dragonfly makes up for it, because this is a real beauty. I really like the background and even if I can't see it, I can envision the shimmer of the dragonfly wings. Thanks for sharing this with Art Journal Journey today.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking exactly the same thing, I've only seen 3 so far!! Fantastic make too Chris :)

Your dragonfly page is beautiful and how wonderful to see one whilst on you walk, it's always lovely to see them during the summer 😀. Happy Friday and have a great weekend! J 😊
ReplyDeletePlant lots of Buddleias, they are just magnets for butterflies.
ReplyDeleteI have them everywhere as I love them, but they are not everyone's cup of tea.
It may be a bad year for butterflies, there is something about them in the news today.
Have a great weekend!

love the use of the dragonfly! I saw lots at Hampton Court last weekend, but that's cheating cos they were in the butterfly dome... one of the gardens had a resting dragonfly on a hedge, too!
ReplyDeleteTerrific page and always good to see a dragonfly in real life. Only seen a couple of butterflies so far this year but it is a bit early yet I think
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
A great page Chris, now you mentioned it I haven't seen many butterflies either this year.

I hope you get to see more butterflies too Chris, I was only thinking the other day how few there have been round the buddleas this year. Lovely page to record your dragonfly. Enjoy the weekend xxx
