T Stands for………Tea…but not for me!!!!

We spent some time at home last week..well sort of! By the time we  had taken a trip with family to The Hepworth Museum, been to look after our Granddaughter, attended a Dentist appointment and done the usual shopping trip we felt we had earned a cinema trip! Okay, so the film wasn't brilliant in my eyes - literally, as we went to see Guardians Of The Galaxy in 3D and I only 'saw' one of the effects, even with the same glasses as hubby's - he said they were brilliant!!!!
We took sandwiches to the cinema - we both hate Cinema food and afterwards we wandered around the side of Manchester Cathedral to 'Propertea'
My youngest had introduced us to this place a while ago.

I thought the people at the next table were never going to leave so I could take this photo.
This one was easier.
Can you see the row of teapots - here they are from a different angle, the staff were happy for me to take photos.

A most fabulous selection of cakes…so what did we choose?
Mine is Chocolate and Beetroot cake and Hubby had Carrot Cake. I had coffee, while of course hubby had tea! He also helped me out with my huge slice of cake - didn't want to overload my sugar levels!!!
Do you like the red teapot?

Some of you may agree with this….me.. I'll stick to coffee!
Oops! Which reminds me - I am here to join Bluebeard and Elizabeth for T Stands For Tuesday!

Finally, you may have already noticed, if not you can scroll back, the furniture is all made with old doors.(You can see some of the hinges on the divider between our table and the next too)
If ever you are in Manchester it is worth a visit - they do hot food at lunchtimes too!It could become our regular place to visit.

I will show you the Hepworth photos another time!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  2. For some reason, I have no desire to see that Guardians movie, although everyone is touting it.

In the US, you are not allowed to take any food or drink into the theater that was not purchased there. I didn't know that when I first moved to Wichita, and took a bag of popcorn I had popped. The manager came and shined a light on me and took the popcorn from me. I was so embarrassed, I wanted to crawl away. I DID get the popcorn back at the end of the movie, but with a stern warning never to do it again. So I was surprised you can take food there.

Propertea sounds like a perfect place for tea for T and coffee for you. I do prefer his choice of carrot cake, though, even though I would prefer coffee, my choice of drink. Something about beets that don't sound good with chocolate. Guess you would have to convince me.

That was a beautiful old cathedral, and a lovely shot from the restaurant window, too.

It looks like the perfect place for afternoon tea and coffee, as well as the staff's willingness to allow you to take so many wonderful shots.

Thanks for sharing your trip to Propertea and your cakes and drinks with us for T this Tuesday. LOVE the red.

BTW, thanks for thinking of me, and your caring remarks on my blog, too.

  4. Shame about the film not being much, but glad you were able to eat your sandwiches... was it quite empty when you went? I don't go to the cinema often (can't remember the last time in fact) but am not fond of people eating food (sweets are bad enough if they need unwrapping) through it... so I don't think we'd get on well, in the cinema itself!! The cafe is fabulous, what a great idea for the doors, and the cakes looked divine. The view through the window is well worth waiting for the table to empty. Starting my day now, with TEA!!

  7. It looks a lovely destination for afternoon tea, it had a lovely view from the window. My choice would have been the carrot cake. Super little teapots.
I saw the trailer for that film and after reading your review I think I would give it a miss.

  9. Propertea - what a clever name. I'm glad those people finally left so yu could get that lovely shot of the vase with all the light play streaming across the picture. That would make a lovely painting.

Yes I do like the red teapot. Vry cute. I like the saying as well, "Today begins with Tea." Great journal page idea.

    Happy T-Day, Chris! Hugs, Eileen

  10. We like the food at the cinema... too much..lol as it costs waaaay too much.. Usually we just stick with popcorn and a soda... We are so looking forward to seeing Guardians of the Galaxy.. We do not like the 3D effect though and will just see it the regular way.. Infact we will no doubt wait for the video to come out and watch it at home.. A trip to the movies cost us $30 + US dollars and with all the work on the house we would just rather spend that money else where if you know what i mean.. LOVE the line of teapots for T Tuesday and yes i do know what you mean about coffee.. I'm a coffee gal.. lol Happy Tday Chris!! Hugs! deb

  11. Thank you for taking us to Propertea. It looks a really nice place. No I hadn't noticed the doors and hinges. Wow, that is such a lovely (and original) idea. The beetroot cake looks lush. I certainly would have ago at that.
Oh we do so much miss going to the cinema. Here the films are all dubbed in Spanish. We used to go every wednesday with the coupon on Orange Mobile. My hubby would have dragged me to the Guardians, im sure. He loves that sort of thing.
    Happy T day,
    Lisca

  12. I'll pass seeing Guardians. Wow! You're allowed to bring your own food into the theater? Not here in Massachusetts USA where I live. Snacks will be confiscated! You have to buy the over priced snacks at the concession stand if you want something to eat during the movie. I don't like to eat while watching the show and would rather go out to eat. Propertea looks like the perfect place. The red teapots look so cheerful. Never had beetroot, but your cake looks delicious as does the carrot cake. Too many choices. Happy T Day
