We started out at the Rheged centre for a quick look around, I went and had a look at the quilt exhibition and we had a coffee.
From there we headed to Penrith (and a quick hop in to Penrith Crafts)and walked down the High Street
We had never noticed this Spanish restaurant down one of the side streets before - in the window was a little village scene
The flowers outside the information centre were beautiful.
Then it was off to Acorn bank to see the daffodils…and these cuties…
..and decided it was time for a bite to eat before our walk.
Hubby doing his w-a-i-t look!!
Mine is the very unhealthy looking(delicious) Sausage roll and hubby had his favourite - Tuna and mayo sandwich. As you can see we had water to drink and this is a perfect time to to tell you that there is an open invitation over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog today - as long as you share something drink related!

The orchard looked wonderful.
We arrived at Appleby station early expecting huge crowds!
At last this wonderful steam engine arrived….
…and by this time there was quite a crowd.
Inside the carriages there was a real treat for the folk on board but at £300 a ticket not for the likes of us!!
Then after a 20 minute stop to collect water they were off!
I was going to show you the two places I teased you with last week but I'll save them for a rainy day!!!
Thanks for looking, Chris

What a fun day you shared this T-day, Chris. Arrived early to beat the crowds - that would be me too! lol - I can't tell you how many time that has happened.
The spring lamb and daffodil photos are especially delightful!
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
Happy T day Chris. looks like you had n interesting day out. Boy, that is an expensive train ticket. But I think your lunch looks yummy. Have a great T day. Hugs-Erika
I would LOVE to see photos from the quilt exhibition. I suspect they are all REAL quilts and not art quilts.
Gosh, those darling lambs are adorable. I can see why you took photos of them. And your country has more daffodils than any place I've ever seen. Helen shared many from Kew this past week.
Goodness. 300 lbs? I could live on that much for six months, maybe more if I didn't eat out. SERIOUSLY!! I can see why you took photos of the steam train but didn't ride it. Laughed at the photo of T waiting alone at the station.
Now I'm ready to make a tuna sandwich, but I'll replace the mayo with ranch dressing. The salad and chips/crisps look great, too. I'll take that over your delicious? sausage roll. But the salad looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing your trip to the Rheged center, Penrith, and Appleby Station as well as your meals and water with us for T this Tuesday.
Thanks for sharing hose gorgeous photos of the places you visited, so pretty. Love the little Spanish restaurant, and those little lambs. Great to see the train, too. Your food looks good, I love sausage rolls. Happy T Day! Hugs, Valerie
what a great day out with your unexpected bonus viewing of the Scotsman! the daffodils are glorious and love the cute lambs.
Oh my gosh - what an amazing trip you had! Adorable impressions! Thank you for sharing with us dear Chris!
Happy T-Day!

Happy T Day Chris
I am just in dream;and after reading this wonderful post full of my favourite places and things to see. We used to shop regularly in Penrith years ago and it has some wonderful and very different shops. Acorn Bank was also somewhere we went often though I am sure it has grown a lot since those days. To crown it all the Flying Scotsman as well. I haven't been on that for many years and I am sure it is so good to see it restored. Who needs to go anywhere when we can go there with you on your blog :) Thank you fir sharing your trips.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
you always find the most beautiful Environments and i´m so glad you share them with us. the wonderful oodles of daffodils, the landscape... great buildings and that steam engine! the Baby sheep are so cute - yes, it´s this time of the year i love most.
happy t-day:)
Chrissie I have so enjoyed seeing your photos today, it must have been a wonderful trip out.
I would have cringed at the price of the rail tickets, but if it is your passion and hobby I can understand folk paying that amount.
Its years since I was in Penrith and Have made a note I'd like to see it again sometime.
Happy T Day.
Yvonne xx
Wuch a lovely post Chris, I loved seeing the new little lambs and all those gorgeous daffodils. Just had to show David the Flying Scotsman photos, it is an engine he loves! It looks like a lovely day all round, thanks so much for sharing the photos! Hugs, Anne xx
Oh what a lovely trip you have had. To see the Flying Scotsman was really a bonus. I would have loved to see that.
Penrith is wonderful. I have been to Penrith Agricultural college on an Open University summer school. We did a lot of field work and laboratory stuff. But have visited Penrith on subsequent visits to the north.
How amazing to find a Spanish restaurant in Penrith! It's called Costas (meaning 'coasts'). Not a typical Spanish name for a restaurant.... The window display is cute.
I really enjoyed all the nature phots. What a beautiful area.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
another wonderful trip you had Chris! Lovely photos and area. Love the steam engine and the darling lambs. You may have splurged a bit with the heavier meal but it looks like you walked it off-so you're even:) Happy T day!
What a charming and colorful town AND it must have been such a thrill to see and hear and smell the Flying Scotsman.

Oh, my word, Chris! How I would have loved to visit this lovely place with you! So many fabulous photos! I love the orchard in it's daffodil splendor and those sweet little lambs! Reminds me of where I used to live up north. We had a sheep farm behind our backyard and I loved to go out and watch them. I feel like I've just been on vacation! thank you! Hugs!
I always enjoy tagging along (via pictures) when you take a trip. Such fun to see things and areas that are very different from here at home.
