T Stands for………time out!

My big craft room tidy was halted last week to take a walk. I had reached the "what am I going to do with all THIS!!" stage!
Our first walk was around the woods at Styall Mill - we walked down past the weir and the icehouse.
I was just looking at the calm pond and the reflections and a heron flew in.
It was a lovely sunny day…..
…..although late in the day and getting colder….
We loved seeing some sun at last!
I don't know whether you can see but the treetops reflected in the pond are lit up with the sun!
The sun was getting lower as we headed back to the carpark.

We stopped at the top of the road for a look at the sun setting.
The next day was cold and we stayed in all day.
We did have a brisk walk around the village on Saturday as we had a run of very cold days!
Fortunately by Sunday it wasn't quite so cold so after church we went into Manchester to catch the Dragon Parade. Our son and Grandchildren had seen it in the square in front of the Town Hall and as we got off the tram (we left our car near a tram station)the parade had just reached the stop!
Here are some photos to give you an idea of the crowds and the colour!

The Dragon goes into the restaurants in Chinatown after the parade this was at the end of his visits and fire crackers were set off from a lamp post
This is one of the colourful stalls.
As I am here for T Stands for Tuesday with Bluebeard and Elizabeth I had better show you a drink….or two!

Our Grandchildren like Frankie and Benny's, it was so busy and I felt sorry for our waitress who was very apologetic that she had spilt my coffee in the saucer as she had to push her way through!
I chose a veggie burger which was delicious and hubby had an avocado and goats cheese wrap - the other three had burgers
I'm sorry if I didn't get round to everyone last week - I lost the order I was in!

Thanks for looking, Chrisx

  1. Happy T Day Chris

The parade looks fantastic. I bet the coffee tasted good even if some landed in the saucer

I went to bed and got up again as I couldn't sleep so I am enjoying looking at the TDay posts earlier than usual

    Love Chrissie xx

  3. I am in awe of your seeing the Dragon parade. I've always wanted to see one. This one was fully decked out in the street and everything.

You got some great shots around the lake, too. I think your photos as the sun was setting were the best.

Had fun seeing your coffee and veggie burger, but I admit that T's goat cheese and avocado wrap sounded even better. I'm sure the coffee was just as good spilled as not. After all, I often spill my coffee.

Thanks for sharing your walk, your dragon parade and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday. Looks like you found a way to avoid the clean-up, too.

  6. The parade looks so special and festive Chris and what a lovely walk to enjoy nature too.
Cleaning out can be so overwhelming...a break was a good idea.
I need to get back to purging...keeping up the momentum is challenging.
It's a fine mess I've gotten myself in over the years.
I am changing my ways but it isn't happening overnight.
    Best of luck to you.
    Happy T Day oxo

  16. Great photos of your walk about and the parade looked like tons of fun. I haven't been on any walks for a few weeks now and I'm really missing them... between Hubby accident and me not feeling well and the bitter cold it just hasn't happened. Happy T Day!

  17. Enjoyed the photos of your walkabout. My hubby and I can't walk together anymore because of his arthritis. I need to get used to walking alone. I miss getting out and enjoying nature.

The parade and restaurant looked crowded ... but fun. I've never seen a dragon parade except on TV. Thanks for sharing.

Happy T Day, Chris! Eileen XOX
