Mediaeval mauve!

I have made another journal page for Susi's new theme at Art Journal Journey! It really is a challenge - Collage but….no faces, no leaves, no wings!!
Now, I have masses of bits and pieces that I just can't throw away and always thought of making some collages..so today went through a couple of boxes quite confident that I would soon have not one, but several colleges ready…HA!……I found…..a lot of faces, birds and flowers(with leaves on!!)
This page is about my love of all things Mediaeval and was already painted this colour. The castle is from a travel brochure - we are planning a trip next year, the instrument is from a card I picked up at the Mediaeval Music festival we visited a couple of months ago. The stones were from a bottle of water - certain stones were considered to be healing stones in those days!
The rest of the collage are literally scraps from other makes, including part of a Christmas hat! I liked the way the triangular top echoed the turrets, flowers, harp and the edges of the stones.

I am hoping that over the month my scrap piles will begin to disappear!

This will be scheduled post with the hope that I will catch a signal to enable me to link while we are out!!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  2. I like it when collages so surely reflect your interests and passions.
It's a great idea to keep a box to put things in as you acquire them
Wish I could be so organised!
Hope you gave a good weekend, Chris.

  5. Lovely alliterative post title, and the full-on mauve is so eye-catching. Great collaging - and yes, a theme which should diminish the piles of leftovers!

  8. Susi and you inspired me today, and now I'm inspired to search through my travel brochures and see what I can find, too. This is wonderful because it's all so personal to you.
