The new challenge is 'Try To Contain Yourself'!
I have always wanted one of those tins with a hole in the top and  string inside - with this challenge I have made my own.

I used two of my favourite sets by IndigoBlu - Kevins Gang and Kibble Kits.
The box started out like this

My favourite Biscotti come in this lovely box but it is also the perfect size to hold both a thick twine and a thin paper string - two of my favourite things to add to a tag. Oh! and yes, I have carefully removed the green decoration and kept it!
I flattened the box to work on it.
The first stage was a coat of Dinah Wakley gesso

As you can see I put some scrap paper inside to catch any runny paint and used tape to mask off and prevent the colour running over the sides too.I used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish paints
I added some texture by using Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium - crazing and Prima Art Basics Transparent Gloss Gel   The next stage was to add some more stencilling - this time to add some colour - once again with PA Fresco Paints

Then I added some spattering of the PA paints too - Oh! I do love to spatter!!

Next I needed to add a little something _ I chose one of my favourite IndigoBlu sets - the Kibble Kits…and coloured them in seasonal colours using my Tim Holtz Distress Markers

I wanted to add a cat on a wall on each side but when I saw the cats in Kevin's Gang I decided that Kevin definitely had an eye for the ladies!! He is such two timer that he waits on the corner for one female kitty but then has his eye on another on the lid!!
Winter
Spring
Summer
  Autumn

All that remained to do was add some holes with my Crop-a-Dile, having lined it up previously to make sure that the holes could be punched in the correct place!

The idea was that I could turn this around with the Seasons but I actually have a favourite side - I wonder if you can guess which it is - so it may not get moved much at all!!!

Now all I need is a matching pot to keep my pencils and scissors in!

Don't forget when you enter the challenge you are in with the chance of winning a 50$ voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp shop!

Thanks for looking, Chris

  10. Being a cat lover, this struck me as both fun and functional. I loved the cats and all the hard work you put in to color these adorable kits and cats. That's a very clever way of holding your twine. I would NEVER have thought of it. I think you thought outside the box on that one! No wonder you were chosen to be guest host this month.
