A Magic Dragon

I have at last had a chance to play in my Journal with an entry for Gill's fabulous theme at Art Journal Journey. When I saw the theme'Nature's Wonders' my mind began racing - there are so many things to wonder at in our World and they well outweigh the bad things!!
My first thought was to include some of the sights we see at our caravan but there was one picture that I had been saving for a while and it just had to be 'the one'!

The texture, the patterns, the colour….what a creature!!
My page started with some Paper Artsy Infusions sprinkled and then spritzed - a lot!!
As I forgot to take a photo here it is already with some stencilling on it.
I added some more stencilling, some with texture paste, and lots of stamping to try and get some patterns behind the Kimodo Dragon - I just can't match the beauty of this one though
Edit - so...…what do I know? Thanks to Rita, I now know that this is an Iguana…I still think he makes a fine Dragon, but alas not a real one!!!

I found a great sentiment by Visible Images.

Thanks for looking, Chris

  11. Very striking image! I love all the texture and how the texture of the background mirrors the texture in the komodo dragon in so many ways. This is a texture lover's dream! On a personal level, I found it very inspiring to see how many textures and layers you added to this piece. I have discovered that this is something I need to push farther in my work and your piece showed me how much further I need to push. I love everything about this piece.

  13. Awww! I had a green iguana for seven years when I was a teenager and young adult. Oddly, he got tumors on his jawbone and the vet just said probably cancer and to keep him comfortable because he wasn't in any pain. He couldn't open his mouth anymore to eat after while. I gave him water by eyedropper but he just slept a lot and faded away quickly. He was one of life's wonders. Obviously I love this page. :)

  16. I think iguanas are "cuter" than kimodo dragons, but I'm not sure cute is the right word for iguanas. I love your page. The lizard looks perfect against it. Happy new week. Erika
