The team have some fabulous examples if you hop over HERE and have a look - you are sure to find something to inspire you!
I love going to the seaside and Morecambe near our caravan is one of my favourites! It still has an air of the seaside towns of my youth, although the seasides I went to then were all on the East coast of Britain - Bridlington, Scarborough, Cleethorpes, Skegness, Great Yarmouth and my favourite Mablethorpe!
I have made a little book that reminds me of them
I have made it out of one piece of A4 card which I started by painting - one side with a mix of Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Lake Wanaka, Concrete and Snowflake and the other side with Sky sprinkled with Royal Blood Infusions powder which I scraped into the paint with an old loyalty card.
This is how it looks when folded - I glued the open parts together but they can be left open and decorated
I used mainly Crafty Individuals stamps and images from their little image books.
A little bit of added stencilling and spattering
A shell stamped onto part of an old napkin and another part of a patterned napkin added with gel medium.
I found the deckchair definition in the old dictionary that is kept by my desk.
The wading birds image was leftover from something else - it was the wrong colour for what I wanted it for.
The sea glass was found on a beach in Scotland years ago - I added remnant rub but it didn't come off cleanly so I had to use a pen to correct it.
The back page has an old label from a shirt of hubby's - yes I was keen for him to buy it because of the label!!It was a nice shirt too!!
The quote is from a bigger stamp and I cut off the part I wanted.
I am also joining Elizabeth for T stands for Tuesday.
Last week we had intended to go to our caravan but at the last minute changed our minds which meant we could go and meet our youngest son in Manchester!
He was working until early afternoon so we went to the John Rylands Library, built under the orders of Enriqueta Ryland in memory of her husband. You can find out more in this Wikipedia link HERE
It is an imposing building and one of my favourites in Manchester - I didn't get a shot of the famous Reading rooms there was a school group in there. Throughout the year there are different exhibitions.
I waited ages for a gap in the traffic as this is on Deansgate one of the main routes through the city!
The old and the new meet here inside
Of course there is a very nice cafe
I love the little milk churn!
These next two photos taken outside the new extension show how they have blended the old and the new on the outside.
The chess set is advertising a new Crazy Golf pitch down in the new Spinningfields area - you can probably guess from it's name what was there before! The tilted sheet of glass is over some steps to a basement restaurant.
I hope you can join us with your Happy Holidays and for a drink related post at Elizabeth's.
I would also like to enter this in the Crafty Individuals July 'Minis' challenge
